110 rebuilds...looking for input/advice/comments
So...sorry if this is a sore topic, but what are the general consensus on 110 rebuilds out there? Now that 110's are getting past the 25+ year mark (for '83/84/85's at least) there seem to be more and more places (Global Landrovers, Rebornco) out there that are taking these chassis' and rebuilding them with more up-to-date parts and getting you a pretty darn nice 110 that at the end of the day may not be as original as the NAS 110's, but pretty good nonetheless.
Since they're starting out with the '85 or older chassis' it fits the bill for import, and either a RHD or good LHD conversion and you're off and running. Any "downside" to this? I've seen more and more of them on eBay/above websites/etc, and if done right look as good as the original NAS, or maybe even better (and in many cases for up to $10K less). I've even seem some extreme cases where they literally rebuild them from the ground up using nothing but the original chassis and you'd swear it was darn near new (which at the end of the day if they're using new/used OEM parts, it may be 90% "updated").
Thoughts? Comments? Does this still teeter on the "gray market" 110's?
