110 NAS cage?

I've noticed very few UK and Australian Defender 110's have the cage. I know this was originally on the NAS 110 that came in but it looks very sharp and I would think would add a measure of safety in the event of a rollover. I ask because there is a chance I may be moving to OZ and of course I'd buy a 110.

I'm in favor of the cage and added a NAS 110 cage to my ROW 110. Others think an external cage ruins the body lines. You can also do an interior cage. Either way, adding a cage only increases your chances of survival in a rollover and I wouldn't drive a 110 without a cage - these trucks have too many weak points.

There are a few options for a cage. Have one fabb'ed up locally, purchase one from the many shops that build them in the UK.

FWIW, I can't build a 110 full exo cage for less than what you can get a Safety Devices or PP cage for.

That's probably because SD is now making these things in some sweatshop factory in Poland. Global supply chain manufacturing at its best. THat and SD had already invested in the tooling etc. and simply moved everything to Poland.

SD cage is a great idea and well worth the expense. Just don't make the same mistake I did and get a firm price quote to install it (if you're not doing it yourself).

Everyone talks about how the cage is a must yet how many rollovers really happen with defenders worldwide? I agree the cage is safe but look how many defenders are sold worldwide yet so few have cages. For everyday use it seems overkill

Really? Your Prius doesn't have a cage and they don't come with them, but they would be safer with one!

What prices do the cages run and how much does installation normally cost?

Plenty of places in the UK make cages for much less than Safety Devices. Cages that meet competition requirements as well as daily use cages so no weenie retaliatory remarks about how they aren't of the same quality as SD. SD is overrated and overpriced. It should cost half of what they charge for a cage to be fabbed and installed (interior or exterior). Unless SD has dropped their prices dramatically within the past year which I highly doubt.

Here are some pics of an interior cage quoted at 800 GBP+VAT installed for a 90. It's easily removable, doesn't interfere with the interior at all, and has that integrated dog guard thingy as well.

The SD XS unit. Is that a roll cage or just an expensive hoop set?
