110 Double Cab Conversion

Hi All - I have some pretty thick skin so let me have it! My thoughts are pulling me to convert my RHD '85 110 300Tdi to a 110 Double Cab.

Question: If I was able to get my hands on the below, is it doable knowing that some fabrication would be needed? Basically I'm looking to use 130 body parts on a 110 chassis. Note: I realize the 130 bed will NOT work.

130 Body Parts:
roof crew cab
Front and rear doors
rear window section
130 or hicap rear firewall
proper floors and seat box for 130 crew cab.

Crazy that a RHD 130 body only without a title could ask as much as what some complete NAS STs go for with a title.

130 Body Parts:
roof crew cab (this will work)
Front and rear doors (You can use the ones from your 110)
rear window section (this will work)
130 or hicap rear firewall (this will not work)
proper floors and seat box for 130 crew cab (Will not work and not needed)
Most of the parts that you listed do not make sense for converting a 110 5 door to a 110 double cab.

You need a roof, the rear window and make or buy a rear bulkhead. Some interior trim if you want.

The double cabs look cool but your current setup is superior to the DC for usefulness and storage.

Thanks, Dave! I also have a lead on a 110 rear bulkhead. Your comments on the looks vs usability are appreciated and spot on! Maybe someone will buy the 110 from me and all this rattling in my brain will go away!!

I always thought a double cab with full 110 roof would look cool. Have to modify some stuff for sure but still think it would look cool. Some kind of roll bar to attach the rear end of the 110 roof down to the body/ frame mount location of the nas 110 cage.

I have everything on your list, perfect rear Puma doors, the rest of the parts are in great shape.
Anyone have an idea on pricing this stuff? Foleys in the UK has pricing, just looking for some fair US market value.

I can ship it all to a warehouse off of Ben White near I-35.

You are going to regret it. Having owned a 110 DC, I can tell you from experience that they are totally useless. The bed is tiny and not good for much of anything, unless everything you put in the bed is waterproof. A station wagon is a lot easier to sell if you ever decide to go that route. If you've already got 130 parts, why not just buy a 130 chassis and have a real bed?

I too have owned a 300tdi 110 double cab and it looked cool but it was a waste of space. As usual I agree with Mr Kelly.

My vote is to fix the cosmetics and keep it as is and keep it here local. She runs like a champ. Did I mention to keep it?
