1:18th D110 From JR Cigars

Just wanted to share this with everyone... JR Cigars had an offer a year or so ago, if you bought like $50-100 in cigars, they'd send you a free 110 model.. now they are just selling the model outright: http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?pa...ROVER&type=SPO ... If you check out this post on Dweb, the truck looks great once you take the decals off; http://discoweb.org/forums/showpost....5&postcount=32

Wow, that is detailed. I wish they would come out with a NAS 90 like that. Big Brother will not let me access JR Cigar's website from work. What are they selling them for?

$40. It is a nice model, though -- I have one sitting in my office.

I got 2 of them during the last deal.

What did he use to take the decals off so cleanly?

Dammit, I had to order one... When I saw "only 2000 produced" I did it, I am such a sucker...... It will look great with all the other crap on my desk.

Follow-up Post:

BTw if anyone remembers, here is the real deal. http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ht=montecristo I remember reading about this truck in a cigar mag a year or so ago.

Has anyone bought any of these models from Rover's North? I was curious as to their detail level and quality, is it on par with the Monte-Cristo 110 many of us picked up from JR Cigar's last year?

They had a 110 Pick-up and a G4 110 before as well, but they are no longer available it seems..

P.S. -- I don't recall what "cigar package" I had to buy to get the 'free' D110 model, but I'm pretty sure it was less than the current $40 asking price. Do you suppose they had that many left over from the promotion?

I have a 1/18 model of a SIII 109 that is made by Universal Hobbies I believe. Just looking at the details of the RN models, I think they are the same company. My SIII is pretty detailed and accurate down to the bonnet prop.

Based on the DWeb thread, looks like you could receive a box of cigars and the 110 for $37.

I received my 110 today. It is made by Universal Hobbies. I have another 110 from them (French Police 110).
The Montecristo 110 has NAS features (like the NAS rims) and looks very similar to the 110 French Police. I did note that the FP 110 has steel rims on the M 110, you can actually see the brake caliper through the rims (and the brake caliper do not turn as the wheels turn.

Anyway, nice truck! I believe the FP 110 costed more than $40 last Xmas (I saw it in a toy store).

Too bad I did not read the post about the cigars before..... Or the R/C D90 at Pottery Barn Kids. I did get a kid T-Shirt with a 110 from Jimbore though this summer!
