Zion NP

Not a rover trip but still a great trip. I took my family to Zion last week and had a great time. My 5 y/o son went canyoneering for the first time. We did a canyon called the Keyhole. Lots of swimming and rappeling. He did great. Always wanted to be the first over the edge. I am really proud of him. He can't wait to go back and do more.

Cool, gotta love the helmet! At the local roack climbing gym the kids can always outdo anyone else there. It's a great sport to get them into!

the Buckskin Gultch is super wet and muddy right now...plan accordingly.
a good friend of mine was just down there this last week and said he wadded through knee to waist deep "keeper mud". check out the wave, south off wirepass trail head... super cool side trip (see avitar)
oh and be aware...there's been some chatter on the yahoo canyoneering boards that there is a cougar in the buckskin right now.... beeee careful!

Kevin, my little one has that same little harness and sticker covered helmet too...LOL

you say you did Pine Creek too?

next time your out, let's do a run through Imlay or Heaps... without the little ones of course

Yep, muddy and wet for sure. Took us nine hours to get through the 20 miles, "keeper mud" is a good description. Water was nipple high in a few spots...no cougar though.
