Dan, your heater will be able to dry the wet socks, especially when you are sitting still not going anywhere. BTDT...

The frame and drivetrain are in great shape. The Tdi is mint. The body has terminal corrosion. I've redone it twice in the 17yrs I've been owned by her and it's just done. I have a nice 2 door body that is going on but have had a silly busy year in the shop and I haven't had time to make the swap......that and shopgirls rig has pretty much occupied any *spare* time.

Soooooo......it's back to the basics. Actually having a lot of fun w/ the dirty old IIA and I'm sure she'll Romp just fine. Prolly no trail breaking heroics though.

yeah, Jake called the other day about that. I've already got a pile of RRC's( 5 me think). I just liked the idea of doing the 2 door.
I have a sweet '95 LWB tdi but I think I'll not be romping that. The IIA is fine. I've already done every trail up there in it. The drive up is OK after the first 1/2 hr of raging 2.5na .
Shopgirl might bring up the Disco mule loaded with some hotness.

I have a ridiculous amount of pre romp prep jobs showing at the shop and more getting dropped every day. Anyone going by early is welcome to stop by as I am right off the highway as you come into Maine. I'll be there until Friday night.

So Chapman is showing up? It's going to be really boring for him after all the epic wheeling in his neck of the woods.

I noticed that web site suggest winter tires.
Any recommendation?
Do I need a whole new wheel or just tire to fit regular alloy wheel?

AT's and chains work really well as long as you take the time to learn or be educated on how to use the chains before you hit the trail.

Or you can run clapped out old Trexus MT's http://youtu.be/ONb6zspYkmw

Thumbs up Winter Romp

Jassy, Sarge and I will be attending after a little pick me up for the 110 from Overland Engineering last week. Judging by the weather camping looks to be a good option. Could be the Mud Romp this year instead. Hope to see you all there.
