Who owns the RRC in the Picture above? Anyone on here? I am wondering what size/type those tires are?

I responded to you in the "Defender Sightings" thread, they're 37" MAXXIS Creepy Crawlers, I think it's an RTE truck. They're the same tires my mechanic has on his RRC, they're great.

Did anyone get any video of the tracked series in operation? The still photos look very tasty.

What are the details on that FC101? Does it have a diesel engine?

... and who owns both machines?

(hating the fact that I had to miss the fun this year)

I know the mattracks Series III is the Red Barn Engineering vehicle but I forget the name of the gentleman that owns it.

I think it was a 300tdi in the track truck. VERY nice truck build, very very clean and nice tracks or no tracks. Awesome machine.

And the 101 I think had a Perkins in it? Diesel for sure.

David i might have some video of the tracked truck on my gopro. I have a ton ill need to go through. Its a beautiful truck but tracks are cheating! I wanted to see how he did on some of the technical off camber stuff. Look great going flat but what happens when you get to rocks and ledges im not sure.

That brings up a question,....
It was our first event, and we put on chains thinking we needed them..and we did.
Why wasn't there more people with chains on?
Its kinda like cheating?
More fun without them?
Too much trouble to put them on?

The group I as with all day Saturday ALL had chains and 35" tires. Except little old me with 33's and no chains. I do have a Detroit rear, 4.43's a 5 speed and 33 Swampers. I hung with them fine and well but it did require a little more finesse and, well... Right hand pedal. Ha ha.

That said I think people didn't run them for ease of dealing with it and also chains can be really hard on axles and body work if you are tight on clearance to start with.

I simply didn't have any so I set myself behind Bob V (who did break an axle on the rear) who had 35's and bar/plate chains and John in his beast of a S1 behind - so if I needed a pull it was easy. Didn't need a pull but did have to use my winch once on a damn near vertical slick as hell assent. No way to get enough speed.

Fun day.

Bossman's and rijosho's black 90's look great!

Wish I could make it up there but winter is a really tough time of the year for me to get out. We still enjoyed some snow but it was in CO and we were on boards instead of in Defenders.
