just got back from expo - met rover shop and checked out his camel trophy there were a bunch of rovers had a good time drove the evoque to poke fun at it and asked the driving instructor about the defender concept and the guy almost went crazy telling me that it looks retarded and has not heritage to the original - he said the pr people keep insisting that the response has been all positive he said its bs and they do plan on bringing some sort of defender back to the states

we left on a whim so all cell phone picks sorry

Cool pics Jay. I see you got a pic of Mike's and Frank's (mongosd2) 83 110s (Ivory and Arles pair in pic 6 above), did you catch the rollover recovery demo we were staging behind them? Mike's one is actually the rear anchor for my 96 D1 you can just see behind that we were tipping. My 90 is the other side of it.

Halfway back to WA already. Should be in Seattle tomorrow morning barring any unforeseen issues.

Doors are crated and ready for pickup tomorrow, hopefully to arrive intact.

Nice to meet you, and let me know what you need for your next project as I already have parts piles growing in my workshop...

Ian- sorry we didn't hook up, but we had a great time- sounds like you did too!! Well, except for the sadness of seeing my old 130 (lower left of Jay's pics) currently with LRLV... a bit bittersweet to say the least.
Thanks again for all the trail info.

Yeah it got kinda busy there with the demo and the prep before so after we just kinda found some shade and vegetated for a while with some beer before hunting out some of the gatherings (with more beer). Didn't really get chance to walk the show myself until Sunday morning.

See you next year?

That 130 was sweet. Nice job!.

How did the demo go? Any pics? Saw everything set up, but hustled into Flag to ship off the doors (arrived today with no problems)

Demo went great. Crowd seemed to enjoy it from the comments we received. Problem was we didn't get any pics ourselves as we forgot to delegate anybody to photog status.

'Victim' truck survived better than I expected. Couple of minor panel dents and a well squashed door mirror were the only issues I saw with it.

Glad you got those doors sorted. Hope they work out for you?

Here are a couple of shots that others on the Expo forum took of the demo.
