Dagone Greenspan, you've got to get out to Uwharrie.
Make a committment and do the October URE.

Yes, Garrett Porterfield made an appearance.
Here he is chatting with Peter of "88 in a Day" Youtube fame.
'
And then...Peter found out that ROBERT DAVIS was in camp!
"In Nova Scotia, we call this stack of washers the Robert Davis Treatment''"

I can't believe we had 100 Rovers in one place and not a drop of rain...

I'm just going to selectively post some of the better pictures.
At some point I left my camera unattended over near the Lucky8 trailer and some very strange pictures ended up in the lot...

Saw an ECR 110...I thought it would've been a little nicer---idle sounded a little high too...

After looking at this a few times I finally noticed the snorkel sticking about 6" away from the truck. Hopefully someone convinced him to sell the 90 and buy a Jeep

So there I was Saturday night, all showered, clean, and super mega comfortable in my tent dreaming of a glass of bourbon and a cigar when my phone goes off. At 12:09am...I remember it...the call was from Larry to come out and get him. To say the least I was half asleep and he had to explain it to me about 3 times. I knew I should've turned my phone off before going to bed...

My friend in his D2 offered to drive so off we went. When we came up, this is what we saw:

We hooked up the winch line to the cage right behind the B pillar and got it back on its wheels...then it rolled backwards and probably would've done a barrel roll off the trail and down the side of the mountain if that winch had let go.

The truck needed to come forward. Its winch was broken (WTF) and everyone was so sure it would start...despite the fact it barely started when it was sitting at camp. Of course it did not. So while the winching truck held the 110 from falling over again, a LR3 went in the hole and pulled it forward with a short strap. Once then we had it back on all fours without assistance.

Everyone was convinced we just needed to get the truck onto "level ground". Ok whatever. Really it would be just as easy to hook it up and drag it out...then at least its out of there. So the truck was backed down the hill to the bottom, almost rolling a few times and had to be pushed a number of times.

Finally it was on semi-level/out of the way ground and everyone started to work on it. The battery/electrical system seemed weak at the time and I'm pretty sure most of the ATF was gone from the transmission (auto conversion) the entire drivers area inside the truck was covered in it.

At this point they began working on the truck and I wasn't really useful anymore. My friend and I both decided to head back as they assured us they had it under control. Last time I saw that truck was 2am Sunday at the bottom of Dutch John with two guys over the engine attempting to get it to crank. In the morning I saw the LR3 but no 110.

Hey, did anyone hear about that set of sliders that were donated from Rovertym that were never auctioned or raffled off?

I was just wondering who won them, they looked nice and my luck was pretty good.

Not surprised- those dudes forgot the set of springs sitting under the table until the people holding tickets started yelling.

I'd pay $10K for #412.... Maybe that's being too generous...

Good story and pics Max.

BTW, I'd like to nominate Iamkraig for MVP as he made the 10+ hour trip to Wintergreen last weekend; and then Uwharrie the very next weekend.
He must have some of those NYC cabbie bead seatcovers or something...
