great. I have a dial gauge, but haven't used it yet. My engine is horrible for doing that, as the position of the 2.8 IP is perpendicular to the ground and therefore much tighter space than the 300 TDI. Much easier on a TDI to access that back. but you could speak to it conceptually Doug.

We could check the timing on your buddies 300 to see where it is and only adjust if he would like. Had all my stuff @ Newman's yesterday to put an uber tune on his 2.5 but not much one can do with those damned Lucas pumps compared to the bosch ve.

I had a thought today that some others that are not familiar with TDI's might be interested in turning it into a front bumper Q&A. If there's an interest, perhaps some others like Doug, with alot of expertise with the TDI's could chime in as well. I think the club would benefit from informal SME topic focused sessions like this.

If there is an interest, we can coordinate a time, and I"ll even pull my bonnet off. I'm tentatively thinking Saturday maybe around 4ish before raffle and BBQ time starts kicking in.

Thoughts? If there's no interest, then I'm free to do it with my buddy at a time that's convenient for just us. I'm going to post this on expo and FB as well.
Mark,
I would be interested in attending if this is an open invitation.

That's a great idea Mark. I was kinda hoping I could get one of the gurus to look at my pump and determine if it is properly set up. I'll be at your seminar for sure.

The reason there is no kit is because the OM617 engine does not fit in a RRC.
The OM617 oil pickup is cast into the oil pump and it's directly above the front diff and the LHD steering box interferes with the left side of the OM617.
The engine bay & steering box location is very different in a 90/110.

Jack, you need to park next to me, and let him demo that on your engine.

I really want to go to this, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money getting down there and all that. I might try to catch a ride with someone.

I can just push it through the trails since the motor swap isn't done, haha. My wallet is pretty thin after buying a D90 out of my price range and then driving it across country.

It will be my first trip to Uhwarrie. I'll be rover free so make room in the cab for a co-pilot. Anyhow, what are the accomodations at the camping site? That will determine what I pack in the suburban for the weekend.
