URE!6 Uwharrie Rover Expedition! 6

This page will provide you with information concerning the upcoming rally our society is putting together.

This is a good year to get Back to Basics. Just driving your land rover on trails, or hanging out by a river or lake and fishing, or sitting in a campsite all day watching the leaves fall, or sitting by the fire and doing, well nothing of tangible value, or any or all of the above.

So this year, here is what we have changed. We will conduct the Uwharrie Rover Expedition! Back to Basics! URE!6 B2B! over the weekend of 22-25 October 2009 in North Carolina’s Uwharrie National Forest.

Here is the Old North States version of a stimulus package!

Fees: None! If you are a 2008/2009 member in good standing of the Old North State and your dues are paid (you paid your dues during 2008, or last October for URE!5, or earlier this year as a new join), the event:

Campground and Saturday night supper is,

wait for it, ......... wait for it.........

$FREE.

If you are not a member, then become a member by submitting a membership form and fee (found on our Home page) and come back to this page and register for the event and the event: Campground and Saturday night supper is

$FREE.

Saturday night supper is a fried chicken dinner from Bojangles.

So, no registration tent, we will check membership as you line up for supper, hand out a raffle ticket, give out what ever we can scavenge, and just kind of hang out and enjoy.

I did. There was something buggy with the online registration, but Dan has since fixed it. If you go thru and do it again it will take you to paypal where you can pay and is pretty streamline.

In any case Dale, I have you set!

LOL...just got the email with the T-shirt/poster design. Some will remember that bonfire for a long time...

Looking forward to this event, last year was one of the best events I've been to in a while. Hopefully it will be a bit drier this year.

I've been asked by enough people if I'll be there that I guess I gotta show up now.

Believe me I am bummed, I leave for St. Louis by car with the family on Thurday, get there Friday AM, fly to Vegas that evening, then stay in Vegas Saturday and teach a class, then back to StL Saturday evening and stay there until Halloween, then back to the beach.

Ok, help me start brainstorming for ideas to convince my wife it's a good idea I go this year. At least put a good word in for me at the MAR.

God I'm glad my wife is fine with me going on trips.

She and my son are coming to URE; it'll be his first trip. 6 months old.

Ahhh, that may be it with me.

I only go on three or four wheeling trips a year. I try not to push her kindness

Only one more week to preorder shirts. These are not going to be the poor quality print job that we had last year. I do apologize for that.

Also, Don't forget about my latest masterpiece, the poster. We are only having 25 "limited edition" prints made of this. I will have 1 framed at the event for everyone to see.

Yeah Joel I just bought four of the tshirts. Wont forget that fire or the $40 for as much wood as we could load in 5 rovers in 10 minutes deal ever. That was a great event despite the several inches of rain. love this club and especially this event. Hope I can make it but may be roverless by then.
