Yep, that's "the chute" on Dutch John. It's in much worse shape this year than last. The rocky hill a few hundred feet before has deteriorated as well. I dont know if you remember, but when we came through last year we even had a bone stock Disco 1 with us, with a first time driver at the wheel, and she took no damage. No way we could try that again with that same truck right now.

Oddly enough the hill climb was in much better shape Saturday night than it was when we drove up it Thursday. I think when they pulled out the Explorer on Friday they ended up spinning down a lot of those high spots and almost grading it flat again. We saw a stock LR3 on bald street tires crawl right up it in front of us.

Any word on this year's URE? Nothing on Old North State's fb page yet--found something on fb saying RN is running it--is it too far out for me to be asking these questions?

It's 10/21-10/23 details are probably going to be the same as any other year.

Convince her what... to go?
I gave up long ago, I just make it a weekend to enjoy Land Rover camaraderie without the wife trying to tuck in my shirt tail, asking me to comb my hair, and shave. Then saying you've already had 2 beers in 20 minutes.
Telling me we are eating too much meat... blah blab blah...
You want to have a good time don't you?
Leave the wife at home.
We'll cook 2" steaks rare as hell at dinner and eat freshly baked icing topped hot cinnamon buns cooked in the camp chef ovens for breakfast...
Then we drink the Paix Dieu and eat a fresh salad before the steaks come off the grill.

She enjoys going. I am already going out to Core Banks/Cape Lookout for fishing trip the month before. I need this one to be a family event. minus the 1 year old.

Robert, we have out selection of Paix Dieu in Raleigh now. And Breckenridge Bourbon sits on the shelves!

On a side note Rob Lynch WTF are you doing in SC.
