Uwharrie Rover Expedition!
October 24-26, 2014
Uwharrie National Forest
I almost thought this weekend would never get here. How I hate the wait and anticipation. But now, the truck is packed, the food is bought and I'm just tying up a few loose ends before I head out for the 11th annual URE!
I just wanted to say a couple quick things about this year's event:
This is the largest URE we have had to date; Over 95 Registrations! As many of you know the Group Campground is not overly large. If you are camping with a group, then please set your tents a bit closer together as we will need room for the over 100 tents we are anticipating this year.
It looks as though the weather is going to be excellent for fall camping. We are expecting it to be dry and warm. During the day expect the temperatures to be in the upper 60's to low 70's and cool at night in the mid to upper 40's. So plan accordingly.
We will have self serve registration tent located near the entrance of the Group Campground. Here you will find the event schedule and rules, trail maps for the lead trail rides on Saturday, and the URE disclaimer form. This must be filled out.
If you preordered a shirt before Noon last Wednesday, then you will be receiving it at the dinner Saturday night.
7am - 10pm
Do whatever you like! Go on an OHV trail ride, head to Badin Lake for some fishing, or relax in the campground. If you bring your bike, you can go on one of the many great mountain bike trails. Enjoy the Uwharrie National Forest!
