There are quite a few places you can get them on the way to the lakebed. If you can give me an idea of you route I will find a few places for you to pick them up.

Hello Chris. I have your ps pump and bracket :-)

My idea was unless there is a more scenic drive? To pick up highway 10 and travel east until road 62 then go north to yucca valley, then north on the 247

Will, I will find you some places tomorrow morning along the 10 freeway. What time do you land and will you have phone/internet access at that time?

Landed in LA last night, now battling jet lag....

Some news from the lakebed, spare autobox has been fitted and the team were out testing at Backdoor. Theres some awesome video on the team facebook page, and i will try and upload photos as I get them.....wifi permitting

Apparently the truck is good in the rocks, now the suspension has been tuned by Wayne at Alltech

P.S If anyone knows a machine shop nearby, we desperately need to turn down a ford 9" spool so it will fit in our modified Ashcroft force 9 axles :-/

Cheers!!

Go find David Buchberger, he is the driver for the Team Widia car and is an ex defender owner and I'm sure he can be of some help. I believe he has a 4 car garage on Spidertrax Street and will have BWR and Widia signs on it.
I will be up on Tuesday and maybe able to help tomorrow if you need anything sourced down in the LA basin.

Not a swivel housing... They are using a prototype Ashcroft Force 9 axle. They use custom fabricated knuckles. Apparently...the GP knuckle had a 12 mm upper plate. Ashcroft changed to 20mm before the first production units went out. For whatever reason, they did not replace this and it failed. It appears they have rebuilt it on site with a much thicker plate.

There is a thread on AULRO. They also lost the rear locker earlier in the week and Ashcroft explains why that probably happened as well....

Hi Guys, Thanks for the support, as you may have heard we repaired the upper kingpin housing yesterday and this morning using some layers of 5 mm plate which we puddle welded and were cut using Ruff Stuff's plasma cutting bench! The car went out to test today, but unfortunatly we bust the extended rear A frame, probably because of our increased articulation and power, combined with the savage terrain. As usual the guys are beavering into the night to get it sorted, and we will be running EMC tomorrow. We are car 69 and you will be able to track us on the live feed

Here's a picture of the car at Chocolate thunder earlier today, which it had no problems with

P.S have you got a link to the thread on AULRO?

Today is my second to last day at this job. I am watching all the coverage.

That was great when they thought the driver was getting out.

Looks like Gigglepin is right behind last year's winner, John Currie. Saw them hauling at 44mph to Wrecking Ball.
