there's a place called the "Globe" if my memory serves me correctly. Contact Jim Cirbo from this website, I wheeled with him there once. I have some pics in the Trail Reports section that are from that trip. Lot's of fun, really nice scenery, and not too difficult.

As I understand it, the Globe trail is closed to the public. It's private land, and you will be ticketed if caught. Richloam Gap is right there though. It's an OK trail. There are also a few unmarked trails on the backside of Beech Mountain, but you have to know how to find them.

Will is correct. The globe is closed. It's a shame, the trail was shaping up quite nicely. I was unable to make the complete loop the last time I was up there....

I just did Richland Gap yesterday with Charlotte Rover Dealer. They had several LR3s, One Sport , one Range Rover and me banging along in my D90. They all made it fine, they rubbed in a couple places and didn't do the one real fun hill climb or the creek crossing at the beginning of the trail. it was fun and the trees look great right now.

Are there any other places to ride in the Boone area besides Richloam Gap? Is the "Globe" area still closed? How many LR owners are out here? Thanks
