The Land Rover Muddy Chef Challenge July 28-31, 2016 Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT

Back for our third year at Lime Rock Park. New for 2016 is a significantly larger vendor village, and a variety of training from off-road to radio use to tech. Also, Ferrari will be on track that weekend so that might make for some interesting photographs.

Registration is online and the website Welcome to The Land Rover Muddy Chef Challenge is updated regularly. We expect 160+ Land Rovers this year. Ask anyone who has attended - it's a blast.

Also, this is (and always has been) a zero profit event. Any registration funds collected that are not used for the event are donated to our charity Autism Speaks (we also hold a raffle to raise more $$$).

We hope you can join us this year!

New for 2016 is an event we are calling a "biathlon" for lack of a better description. We wanted to add a bit more challenge beyond off-road driving. How about shooting, navigating, and problem solving? AND off-roading. As soon as this wretched snow melts we will post a video of what to expect. We want to make this event insanely difficult (and fun). Got any ideas? Post them up or PM me. Thank you and see you in July!

It is my very great pleasure to announce Tito's Vodka as an official sponsor of the MCC. Add that to our beer, bourbon and scotch vendors. If you don't know, all bevvies are completely free for the entire event.

Is this event open to all or invite? Just hearing of it now for the first time. Looks like loads of fun!

It was posted here publicly, so count that as your formal invitation.

The IRON Muddy Chef Challenge is perhaps the most challenging event of the weekend. You have no idea whats going to be in the mystery food basket. Last year it was brook trout, pineapple, artichokes, and a can of spam. There is a shared food pantry of ingredients to choose from and you get 50 minutes to make something. It's very cool to watch people working furiously to create something.

Our newest partners for The Muddy Chef Challenge are Prestige and Arkonik. Arkonik is bringing several Defenders for attendees to examine and test drive. Also, the Arkonik staff is flying in from the UK to give a presentation about Arkonik and the build process, etc.

I know there are many opinions about Arkonik on Land Rover forums. This is your chance to see these vehicles close up and form your own opinions. Where else can you not only sit in one but drive it?

I think that's pretty cool. Visit Welcome to The Land Rover Muddy Chef Challenge for more information.

Well, you can ask them yourself during the MCC. Not sure about trail rides. I'm sure at least one will be off-roading. I"ll ask and let y'all know.

If we get another booze sponsor (so far ultra-premium Vodka, Bourbon, Rye, Scotch, Rum and two craft beer bands - all free!) I think I'm going to call the Betty Ford Center or AAA.

Erik,

I will be flying into CT and will be Rover-less. Staying in Bristol and driving the rental car to Lakeville.

Can I still attend as a (free) guest to visit the vendors and watch the events?

We added hot laps on the Lime Rock track with a pro drive on Thursday July 28. Not the autocross - the big track.
