Ok sounds like I had some wrong info at the least and you are right I'm sure I have only heard of (part of) one side of the story. Thanks for clarifying. I still wish they were different weekends, although personally if I manage to make it to the National rally this year as planned I don't think I'll have time to make this or MAR.

I'm not sure this is true for the stocker friendly stuff, but they have enough for a MAR for sure.

Dan I somewhat agree, dammit I like the family atmosphere at MAR now that wife and kids come and would honestly prefer to make it to both regardless of location just to see everyone. Can you not back it up a month, I mean how big of a sponsor is Garrett that it revolves around his trips?
I don't think the cove is not family friendly. It doesn't get loud like MAR did last year. I think your wife and kids would be fine. Two years ago when I attended all the people were laid back and we only got wound up when we went up to the stoner fest farther up in the camp ground.

About $3k.

Besides that, Garrett is a big part and a big help to making the Cove happen each year. Without Garrett it would be hard to make shit happen.

if you need practice I may be doing an easy trail on the 11th of july along with a harder trail.just looking for a leader for the easy trail and a couple more trucks for the hard one.

I dont think they know where they will hold the next MAR so it could be a long drive....

I have heard hilarious stories about MAR, and seen some great pictures. No doubt, I want to go. But, the issue I have is that they are an organization focused on providing the rover experience, mainly to include putting together events. And, here we are two months away and they still cant come up with a place, for an event that is/was regarded as one of the top rover events on the east coast.

ROAV should join up with the Cove. Its all figured out.

whats the good idea? And a 4 hr drive from where?

dan- sorry to hijack the thread

Rumor has it MAR will be in Buckingham County. This is the same round-about location as Pearls Pond.

The Cove is on the North side of VA. Driving from the Cove to Buckingham County is about 2.5 to 3 hours, or 4.5 hours by way of Series truck.

Registration will be open by the weekend. A $20.00 event fee holds your spot. The only other charges will be camping/land use fee paid directly to the Cove upon your arrival for the event. Further details will be listed on the registration page.

Cove

Seems like personal politics/conflict is getting involved with this- two events in the same weekend, that doesnt happen on accident. Petty.

Im in for the MAR.

I agree completely. I have to support MAR... If this was some other time in the fall I would love to go and check out the Cove...

Dan, a few questions please, We went to the Cove a few weeks back at a OCC event, I got the feel that the trails would need to be escorted, is this the case at your event? Also will there be night rides? When I asked the people at the camp office, they made it sound like night rides could be, if approved first. Thanks
