Series in the City 3 - 8.29.15

Series in the City 3 will take place Saturday August 29th 2015 in New York City. I will try to get maps done ahead of time again and also get some better "rest areas" where people can meet up and come together after getting lost or stuck in traffic

RULES!
Only Series I, II, III, 90s, 110s, 130s, Defenders, FCs, etc, can be driven.

No D1, D2, LR3, LR4, RRC, P38, MK3, etc.

Details to follow. I will put together a nice route around the city to see landmarks and interesting places. We will then end at my apartment and eat some Mexican food!

I'll be there, although I think you have a typo, should we be meeting at Over the Eight?

This might be fun to come down for. It's been quite awhile since I've been to NYC.

Make sure your trucks are up to spec. The worse thing is having 4 broken down trucks on Park Ave

Just remember its only for the day. It's a drive around the city seeing some landmarks while driving a cool route. After the drive we eat dinner and drink and hangout. People usually drive home after that.

So anyone coming from further away, i'd suggest you get a hotel and make a weekend out of it and enjoy NY.

Some chance I may be there if I can get my truck done in time. Looks like a cool day-event

Meeting this Saturday at 11am on (A) Thompson Street right below Grand. Not a lot of traffic there and its a good staging area. We will finish in Long Island City (B) and get dinner at a Michelin Star Mexican spot called Casa Enrique.

Map is here. please have it loaded on your phone at the start.

You must also have one truck in back of you at all times. If you don't see a truck then you need to pull over and wait for them to catch up.

Does anyone have recommendations on where to stay the night of the 29th?

Preferably cheap, clean, and safe enough parking for a dilapidated old truck

I was thinking Newark, but if there are places closer to Long Island City that would be helpful. Was looking at Kayak, but I can't tell if these places have actual parking lots.

Newark isn't the first place that pops into my head when I think of safe or clean.

Such a cool idea, wish I lived just a little closer. Josh do you still own a D90? I haven't seen a pic of it since you did that seafoam mess. When I first joined this board your truck was on every thread.
