SCARR III April 7-9

Next month is the annual SCARR (South Central Area Rover Rally) rally at Barnwell Mountain in northeast Texas. Last year we had somewhere near 100 Landies show up from all over. They don't have a lot of info on the website about it yet. I need to ask then about that. All they've got up there right now is a short video of last year. http://www.texasrovers.org/forms/Scarr2006.mov It was apparently done by someone who hates Defenders though as not one shows up in the entire thing. If you've never been to Barnwell Mountain, it's a blast. Trails from dirt roads to 'tighten your seatbelt and pucker your ass'.

I'll be arriving on the 6th and I'll try to drag CvC along with me.

haha... I'll be there. The question is, will you need to borrow one of my trucks so you'll be there?

Tony,
Where can I find more info on scarr? I check the website, it didn't say much. I registered and paid. What the schedule like? Where is everyone camping? This will be my first time down there. Any help would be great.

We've been bugging the admins to get that stuff on the front page. Most of the action is in the forums. Here's a link to the thread where you can find a full schedule.

Just got back in a little while earlier from SCARR III. What a great time I thought. Got to meet and wheel with Randy Black, David Williams, and Brian Besier from here on the site as well as Al who hopefully will start posting over here now a bit. Also it was great to finally meet a whole lot of other people not only from the Texas Rovers who I had not meet before but also the great gang from the Houston club as well.

I had a great time for my first SCARR event as well as my first time at Barnwell. Great wheeling and a great way to break in the '97 on my first outing with her and get a few possible game plans together for finishing setting it up.

Great meeting, wheeling, and hanging out with Chris and all the others (I'm terrible with names). Had a great time and the Texasrovers put on a great event.

OK.. everyone sit down and try not to die of shock, but I actually updated the site with the pictures I took from SCARR this weekend. If you have any to send in to add to the gallery, zip them up and send them over and I will add them. Trying a simpler way of adding pictures so its not quite as neatly laid out the others, but a lot easier for me to get updates posted.

I'll get some select pics over to you when I can. I've got them all on my site but don't want to take the bandwidth hit.

Duh, nevermind, just burn them all to a CD for me and I'll grab them this week. Not like we live 4 states away from each other.

We had a great time at the rally. Got to see some cool Rovers and wheel with some great guys.

Enjoyed talking Defenders and other things with Chris, Tony, Brian, John and the other Texas guys.

Chris did a great job of spotting us through the curvy ravine. And Chris, I could tell you were berating me when you saw my D on the trailer. LOL Ok, Ok, I had it comming.

We need to get together again at Barnwell or maybe someplace out west. Thanks for the pictures.

I had a blast at rally. It was good meeting up with all the Texas rovers. Good pics, Chris. Maybe, I will use them on my updated bio page. We'll have to meet up again Barnwell. At least next time I will know that its a dry county.
