I'll have to check my work schedule. I went in 2013 and it was great.

I'm not sure if I'd bring the 90 or the LR3 though. It probably depends which has less wrong with it by then.

I'll be there. Will be my third year in a row. We really enjoy it. Hopefully we won't have the hellacious thunderstorms we had last year tho...

I'm considering it as a maiden voyage for the '83 110 HCPU. Figure I can trailer it behind the RRC incase anything goes POP. Just stumbled on it after googling "Central Texas Rover Club" and finding "Texas Rovers"... Seems there aren't any good reasons NOT to go other than 5 hours one way after work to get there Friday night (hoping to get there before the midnight gate closure).

Need to rebuild the rear diff on the RRC this weekend then for sure or this is a no-go.

I've been waiting for Sam to start this thread... now that it is here, I'll chime in.

I will be there, but the D110 will not be going. I run the trails in the Disco 2.

We are making it a family event; finally guilted my wife to come out with our third daughter (she is not outdoorsy). My son (12yo) has gone with me for the past 4 years and looks forward to it every year. Last year my 18yo and 16yo daughters went and are hooked; this year, they are each bringing friends. Between my brother-in-laws Disco 2 and my Disco, we should be full of teenagers.

Last year, they had over 100 trucks, with about 5-6 Defenders.

I hope to see a few of you out there this year.

Check with the local Texas Rovers members, there might be a tech/prep day at one of the local shops.

I am registered and plan to bring the 110 back out. If you are going to miss the gate deadline, I'm sure you could contact one of the Texas Rovers Reps to get the code or meet you at the gate....and could definitely do without the storms this year!

The cabins might already be booked, but there are also RV hooks and primitive camping. Camp Maybe tends to be a pretty quiet group...Old Camp...a.k.a.: The Fun Zone...might get a little rowdy. I'll be at The Fun Zone...bring an instrument if you play...good times!

I think you should take the Prius off-road.

If Pendy would have my Disco finished, I would go.
Not my idea of fun to bash the Westminster on trails. Besides, we're going to be doing a brake job next week and prepping her for the conversion back to EAS.

Austin Convoy to SCARR

Sam: I just got a message regarding an Austin convoy to SCARR. Looks like they are meeting in Georgetown (at HEB) on Thursday, April 11, 1 PM.

If you need further info, let me know and I will put you in touch with the person that sent the group message to me.

I did not. The girl who owned it was hoping that the next buyer would fix it and appreciate it. I was wanting it for parts.

She really did not want to get rid of it. I respected her wish and pointed her in another direction.

She was really good looking too. Should have kept her number.

April 21st, no? I just joined "Texas Rovers" forum and saw the convoy note. Wish their forum was more active, but I have some people I can call now about this.

First time going to SCARR and had an absolute blast. Met lots of great people, enjoyed the trails, and camped with the kids. Special thanks to Jason and Christopher for getting me past all of the excuses of why not to go. And big thanks to Arto, one hell of a trail lead.

Anyone on the fence about going next year, do it. It was theone of the best times I've had in a long time and my kids are already planning for next year (girls 4&6). The entire event was family friendly (not sure about fun zone, never made it over there).

Well over 100 vehicles showed. 90's, 110's, RRC's, tons of D1 & D2's and an HCPU.
We will be there annually. And next time the 90 will be there.

If anyone has pics, post'em here.

Pete, Mike - you guys were definitely up there for "best in show", loved your trucks.

A far as the HCPU - we discovered that 67 HP wasn't enough to make it up that hill, and the weak link, of all things, was the fuel pump and the mechanical arm that feeds it off the cam. Yes, there was shrapnel. Unfortunately, it looks like I may need to take down the motor to remove all the bits from what I'm hearing. Man, just wish I knew more about these diesels. HUGE thank you to Jeff Aronson and a guy from LA names Tony Parr for their expertise and generosity in helping with the busted 110.

I cannot believe that my '95 hauled a 1ton trailer, loaded with all of our crap, and the HCPU 600 miles. What a champ...

Can't wait for next year!
