Rowher Flats So Cal snow run 1/23

Snowed up there today and it should make this trail lots of fun. Guys that own a local 4x4 shop called Dirty Parts were talking about heading up there tomorrow. Anyone else want to go?

Damn, you always find the times I've already got plans...I'm a douche...I'm sure it will be a blast with all the unusual weather we've been having.

Im starting to think you just dont want to get the truck dirty Since I cant make it to Winter Romp this year I figured with a freakish snow storm we could create a west coast version... lll report back and if its worthy of a challenge (meaning we will have to drag Barry's 110 up and down the mountain) than we should organize a bigger group to head up in a few weeks.

Haha! It seems that way! I've actually had to refrain from hitting the mud puddles on the side of the road all week because the rain finally washed off all the mud I've had on the truck for the last month. My truck hates me.

Guys missed a good run today. Sadly I was the only Rover on the trail but we handled all of the most difficult passes and some the Ranger said were impassible. Snow covered 55 degree grade of loose rock and mud. (needless to say I wasnt able to take a pic going up that one) Good times.

Rowher flats is about an hour away from us off the 14. There are some very steep trails and they are clearly marked that I think would give the 110 difficulty and the problem is that whole area burned several years ago so there are few if any trees that you can attach a winch line too. Youd be fine on all the easy and intermediate stuff which is where these pics were taken.

There are plenty of 90s and 110s from L.A. that off-road together. Go to SCLR.org to get in touch or read about trips...

Whats the cost to join SCLR? I'm pretty new at off roading. Ive only been a couple times but I'd love to go with some people that could help teach me how to do it right.

its 60 bucks. Im thinking about heading to Azusa Canyon this weekend. Its very tame and would be a good place for you to start to learn the capabilities of your truck and how it behaves offroad.
