I hope this does not conflict with URE7...

Joel,
Per the conversation on Dweb about URE7, it's the same date.

This is funny as shit, though. Roav going to the Cove after all the negative commentary about the Cove from ROAV staff and leadership. I can't wait to shit on this parade!

Actually, Joel, I was wrong. URE7 is the weekend before October 22-24. Take it with a grain of salt though, as this was just a thread on Dweb and not an official notice.

SAE is the weekend after.

Smile About the date

We've heard from so many of you who wanted ROAV to have an event at The Cove. To deliver this year, we had a choice of an October or a December weekend. We really couldn't schedule it before MAR because the ROAV Crew is working diligently to make that event the best possible. A hunt club leases part of The Cove property during November; hence, no wheeling in November. (I liked the idea of Guy Fawkes Day). The Cove Campground is such an outdoor paradise with so many recreational opportunities, it seemed a shame to schedule it in the cold of December. Hence, an October date was selected. I personally made a good faith effort to avoid conflict with the National Rally and nearby Land Rover clubs (ROVERS Club, BRLRC, CROC, Old North State) in recommending a date.

We're pretty excited about it being on Halloween weekend. Any ideas for how to have fun with it?

We need a good t-shirt design for our inaugural ROAV @ The Cove event. Any ideas?

Parents may be pretty busy that weekend getting their kids ready, but some "Halloweelin" at The Cove sounds like a cool idea.

Then why not have MAR there?

I think the dates sucks. I think you would have much better luck with a Spring event at the Cove, or even early Summer. You're already charging $120.00 for the MAR event 3-weeks prior, and then another $150.00+ for the Cove. After food, gas, parts, etc... members could expect to be paying out $500.00 in a month for wheeling/camping. Seems like you're competing with your own events.

Move this event to Spring/Summer and you would do much better. As it is now, I bet you barley break 20-trucks in attendance.

Yes. If we can get my truck back together in time...LOL

I would like to drive down on Thursday night and return on Sunday morning after a guy’s night out in Fells Point, Baltimore.

Will likely stay at the CY Marriott in Winchester, VA on Thursday and Friday night...but hopefully over to Baltimore on Saturday night. Its tradition!...

Speaking of shotguns, are you bringing some artillery to fire at The Cove's range?
