ROAV Event: Rovers at Wintergreen - March 2013 Rallye

ROAV event this March: http://www.roav.org/ForumsPro/viewtopic/p=5100.html

Hello Everyone,

We are pleased to announce that ROAV shall host an event March 22 - 24, 2013, at Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County, Virginia. We have negotiated very favorable Lodge rates and have full use of the resort. Most important, we shall have exclusive use of the trail network our club shall be putting in place over the Fall and Winter months. Mike Boggs is heading up the trail work and I shall be in charge of the logistics for our weekend Rallye.

LR Richmond is our major sponsor. We have commitments from another half dozen suppliers and supporters. Thank you to all of them for supporting this wonderful event.

We have booked the rooms at the Main Lodge and we shall be hosting our meals and club gatherings there. We have full use of the Resort amenities. Plans are in the works for nearby winery tours, vintage Rover vehicle display, new Land Rover vehicle display and test drives, spa days for those so inclined, hiking, and our usual scenic, intermediate and advanced trail drives along the Blue Ridge.

We shall have something for everyone.

Our Board has put alot of prep work into this event over the past three months. There are far more details than I can post now.

Please keep your eye on our postings and website for additional details to come next month.

I should be there, they want the whole dealership to go. I'm not really interested in wheeling my Defender, but we'll see. What are the trails like up there?

I think I am in as the family ( let me re-write that Wifey ) would love to use the spa and the wine tour as she doesn't care for primitive events.

Do you know the difference between the Lodge @ $ 99.00 and the 1 Bdr condo?

I'm firm.

I was thinking of suggesting an informal gathering at my place there on Friday night for anyone interested in stopping by.

111 Deer Springs Lane. Its small but the wife would love to have an excuse to make a massive pot of chili or something.

Firemanshort is in - definately. I am not sure about my passengers, yet.

(I am also not sure about my truck. Hopefully the new part delivery gods shine on me and I can get this thing re-assembled in time.)

Dave, what do you need to fix the truck? Let me know if you need a hand.

Dave let me know if you need a hand. Iam "not working" this week, heading back from Philly now and I just need to get RRC a new exhaust and then get inspections and registration completed. Other than that I am open.

Day trip for us. Probably only be there Saturday. Our farms are about an hour or so away. Pretty sure Cabell is in as well.

I got to drive them on Sunday. Great views, nothing crazy then you get to the base of the trail Mike showed me yesterday. Imagine Daniel at Uwharrie, this was way worse. No way I am driving that stuff.

Imagine driving from the base of the mountain until the bottom of the slopes. We came out just below the tubing area.
