Road Trip: San Diego - Alaska - Colorado

Yes, call us gluttons for punishment, but Josh (crash303) and I are going on a 3 week road trip from Sunny San Diego up to Alaska, then back down to Colorado for the national rally in our 90s.

We are leaving on July 15th, and I still have a very large laundry list of things to do to my "still kinda new to me D90"....

Already done:
Rovertym 3" lift
New Terrafirma bead lock rims with BFG M/T KM2s
Compact subwoofer installed
LED Lighting
Tom Woods driveshafts
All new VDO gauges with electronic speed sensor and EGT

Still to go:
Fit caster corrected swivel balls and new wheel bearings
New radius arm bushings
Safari Snorkel
Finish ham radio install
Finish interior light wiring
Play with injector pump tuning a bit more
New brake master cylinder and vacuum pump
All new fluids

So we will most likely be in the Bay Area the 15th, Oregon (Corvallis) the 16th, and Seattle the 17th. We may juggle that around a little bit if we decide to stay in one place or another for a day or two. Head to Alaska via ferry on the 22nd, tool around off-road up there, and eventually getting to Breckenridge by the 2nd of August via Seattle, Boise, and Spanish Fork UT. Do the rally, shoot out to Denver to see Josh's fam and then bomb home in time to go to work.

We are always up for Rover Happy Hour wherever we go... so if you are along the way let us know!

Horsey,

Not much to show... it's bolted to the tub wall behind the passenger seat. The seat is removed in this picture. It's not a "thumper" by any means, but it fills in the bass the normal speakers don't have.

Final packing this morning... and then we head off for the Bay Area, missing Carmageddon by a single day!

Some minor things didn't get done, like breaking off the anti-tamper ring on the injector pump, and my HF radio antenna is not fully wired in, but we have some downtime along the way so I can take care of it then.

Nice shot of the eagle in flight. Good luck with the rest of your trip.

Holy crap you guys are crazy! What a trip! I'm sure you have some serious stories to tell. I may roll up to Breckenridge on Friday for a few hours at the last minute if I can tidy up my schedule. I'll give you all a buzz if I make it up there or feel free to yell at me if you have any free time from the fam in Denver since the wife is outta town. Safe travels!
