Rattlesnake Gutter question

My brother-in-law and I went up to Rattlesnake Gutter this past weekend. First time for me with the Defender. It was a blast, after we figured out where some of the side trails went to. My question is, what's the deal with that gated off road? Is that to keep the random troublemaker out or is that road really closed to everyone?

The rocky area by the powerlines was a bit out of my league. I need practice (and some skid plates!). We also hit up some other trails near Bull hill, but they all ended up in people's backyards so we had to backtrack.

If anyone has some nice trails they would like to share with me, especially out more towards the Worcester area shoot me a PM. I get the feeling that open discussion about trails is to be kept to a minimum...
