PDX Meetup Early Next Year

OK gents... Josh (crash303) and I are headed back to Portlandia, this time for an extended 3 month stay while the ship gets a complex overhaul in the drydock at Vigor Industrial on Swan Island.

We'll be there from mid January to the end of March.

Any takers for a repeat PDX meetup?

I'm in. Perhaps we can arrange a proper D-Source meet this time.

There any places that have (a) parking and (b) good brew? They seem mutually exclusive in Portland.

I'm in.

So, you have to stay in town while the ship is in drydock?

There are plenty of places to have a meet. McMinnamin's is a standard, and pretty good, but there are others.

We will be going back and forth, there are a lot of shipyard projects getting done that we need to oversee.

I'm in. And I owe Josh a few rounds already! As much as I love McM's, especially the Kennedy School, if we want to be in NW I think Kells Brew Pub is a good option. They have a small lot that holds about 10 vehicles that are visible from within the pub. I think I could secure the lot just for us. Address is: 210 NW 21st Ave, Portland, OR 97209

Oh man. There are so many options. Lucky Lab Hawthorne, Gigantic, Coalition, Base Camp. McM's is so large these days. Good stuff but the boutique pubs I think brew so awesome stuff. Then of course Green Dragon owned by Rogue. They have a little over 100 local varieties on tap. But Kells is a good option in NW. Hard parking though.

True! This is the microbrew capital of the U.S. I guess it depends on how many of us there might be. I count 7 so far. If it's 10 trucks, Kell's might be cool as we could see the trucks from the bar or patio and have the whole lot. I'll take a shot of it mañana and talk to the manager about the possibility of having it reserved just for us for a set period.

If it's reserved, it's golden. Otherwise, we would need to pick the place with the best options for parking together.

...sounds like I may have a deadline for making sure my truck is dialed in so I can show it off!

Let's give you a deadline then! ;-) If I had a ballpark or exact date, obviously it would make the reservation request for the parking lot that much easier and legitimate.

Any ideas on dates? Anyone chime in.

Anytime between January 13th and March 27th works for us, except for the week of February 9th. I have to be in Hawaii for a conference.

Yes, life is rough....

I vote for early March. Slightly more likely for better weather. Are we thinking Saturday or Sunday?

Defender Caravan

I thought I'd throw this suggestion in the hat as well. We could do a Saturday day trip down to Hood River and check out some breweries there. A Defender caravan down the scenic Gorge never disappoints. Pfriem, Double Mountain and Full Sail breweries are all in Hood River.

I am always interested in hanging out with like minded Defender guys, so count me in.

One suggestion is that we could meet up more than once... I would be down for a monthly GTG if there is interest.

Hood River is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Portland. Great spot and we'd be looking at this:
