I'll call the KOA tomorrow and ask them about space for 10 or so tents and I'll let you know what they say.. ..

Anyone know if there is a motel or something near Rausch? Weather getting colder and after a damp weekend at Mar, I think I am done camping until spring. Its also a lot less I have to cram into the D90. Lastly, from my new place, Rausch is now another 45 minutes farther away. So if there are other accomidations, I would be into looking at them.

Hey Chris, did you see that KOA has cabins you can rent? I think they are cheaper then a Hotel.

I'm with Chris! Let's find a dog friendly motel. Anybody check the rausch website for accomodations? I know there are a bunch of hotels near Paragon, so there should be others, right?

Follow-up Post:

I sent an e-mail to Lynn asking for contact info on hotels, as well as letting her know that we are heading up that weekend. The Delaware Jeep Association is the only other group scheduled. I also mentioned that we expect close to 100 Land Rovers. Just kidding. Maybe 20?

Well, I called the KOA (Pine Grove) and they only have 8 tent sites which are pretty muched book that weekend. She said that they are trying to add more tent sites but, probably not till next year..

So I guess that leaves Echo, Rausch, or a motel.... Not sure if I want to spend the extra cash for a hotel or give up the idea of beers around the camp fire at night.

You guys want me to call Echo and see of they have space?

Well, I am out for that weekend now. Between my travel and scheduling commitments this month I wont have the needed time to address repairs before the get together looks like.

Bummer Chris, now we only have 1 yellow 90 going (maybe).

Eric, do you know if they have cabins at KOA at all, Jimmy's wife won't camp in the less then warm weather. I'm just as happy camping at Rausch on the trail as Echo unless someone really wants to take a shower in the green thing trailer at the Echo. Oh Trevor and Eric Thanks for calling around !

I didn't ask about the cabins at KOA since they don't even have any tent space for people that would want to camp. One day without a shower isn't going to kill me (might kill anyone down wind from me though) so I don't care if we stay at Echo or Rausch.

I called Echo, they have the space ( I would assume same set up as last time we were there ) and we would also probably be sharing it with the other group that is going to Rausch that same weekend like when the X-terra's were there....

Bummer Chris - sorry you can't make it. I'm easy on accomodations myself, so I'd say lets book where we can guarantee the space will be there.

Exit 100 is the Comfort Inn. Ask for Tammy and tell her that you are going to Rausch Creek. They allow pets. 570.345.8031

Chris - It was very good to finally meet you at MAR this past weekend.
Ken - Good to see you again.

How are the trials at Rausch Creek. I hit the boss up this afternoon for a pass that weekend under the condition I bring my son. Looks like it is a 5.5 hour trip for me. Both of you guys have seen my truck and I don't like to do anything real crazy especially with my son along. Let me know about the trails and I'll work my wife for the pass.

Hope to make it!

Troy

Troy, Rausch has mostly rocks with a variety of difficulty levels. Some of the rocks are in the middle of a stream bed which happens to be the trail, others require a little effort to get to. Winches and lockers will make it easier, but with this group, you'll find more than a few capable spotters!
How old's your son? Mine's 11 and if the ex-wife is in a good mood, I may be able to request his services for the weekend so he'd have some company.

Well, I'm out.. Found out last night that the wife has to go up to Alaska from 18th-25th to help campain so I'm either going with her to help or I'm going to be at home watching the little one and taking care of all the pets. Looks like I'll have to catch up with you guys on the next go around..

Ya, that's an idea, but, folks that live in PA can't vote in an Alaskan election... Well, unless they become Alaskan residents before Nov. 2nd. Besides, I'd have to bring my 18 month old little girl with me and she's just too young for wheeling still.
