There will be plenty of time to talk about adventure pants at MAR, just go there!

So how many of the D-90 crowd and attending OEX instead of MAR this year?

I was torn but really wanted to do the OEX again this year and plan to be at MAR gain next year.

Was considering a nice top down, up and back ride Sat, but the monsoons seem to be sticking around through the w/e...

I'm getting new shoes on the 4Runner Thursday and, in a moment of weakness, considered bringing that up in place of the Defender. You know, to test out the new KO2s on that famous hill...

And to stay a little dryer while in the car...

Since I'll be dragging a trailer I'm actually considering bringing the LR3 instead of the D-90.
Mud Terrains on the D-90, All-terrains and traction control on the LR3...

Even though the D-90 is a hardtop we all know that Land Rovers aren't watertight containers. The LR3 would provide a more comfortable ride up and even though it is "Expedition White" - it isn't as Expo-cool as the Defender. Luckily neither of my Series trucks is in running condition.

Looks like its going to be a wet weekend - I've loaded my MAR tested 16" rubber boots in the trailer.

Jason has a very large PR flag made for the occasion and a 12-14 ft high pole!

we won't have a reserved site, so if we're all going to try and hang together, then we'll need to know where to go when we come in and it's first come-first serve on the sites. sounds like Performance's Flag will be the rally site on Friday. If you find a good spot Thursday, let us know if you can, or you may have to relocate after we all flow in if we don't connect if you want to group camp with us.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Are there any favorite spots from last year that I should try to stake out?

Tyrone and I will be there Thursday afternoon - I believe that Rick had an arrangement with Jonathon and Roxanne to reserve the Land Rover area we had last year - first campsites on the left as you enter the camping area around the big pine tree. The Land Rover of Asheville staff loved having us there as it became a great example to all of the people that were doing demo rides in the new Rovers to see such a large group of owners having a great time.

We'll be right about here:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/35%C2%B028'18.2%22N+82%C2%B027'51.3%22W/@35.4719936,-82.4639185,837m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

which is very convenient to the classrooms, exhibits and showers. We had 63 Rovers last year (plus another dozen or so parked elsewhere around the property) so we'd like to get as many Rovers together as possible to preserve our "most favored vehicle status". Roxanne said they only had 16 Land Rovers at the Spring 2014 Expo West so she was pretty impressed with the turnout last year.

Jack, I don't think we ever got any confirmation that the site was reserved for us. if there's nobody there thur to rope it off, nothings stops others from camping there. worth a try though.

the spot was right across the road from the showers rallied on that lone tree. if anyone comes in thur, grab it. if we can all fit; great.

BTW, it's Jonathan and Roseann (not Roxanne)

Given that it'll be Oct and I love German food, I'm organizing a trip to the German restaurant, where ever the hell it is. Not sure if Fri or Sat for anyone going that's interested.
