NOVA wheeling and 101/201 off-road class July 17th/18th

The web page below has all the details but it's a combination of wheeling at a great location (Gore) and a chance to learn something new or share your knowledge with others. It's not nearly as formal as it may seem.

OCC's 101/201 Classs - 2010

Who: Open to the public, All interested in 4x4's; new, old, experienced, beginner. (must sign-up in advance)
What: Organized off-road skills classes and behind the wheel training (in your vehicle)
When: July 17th and July 18th, Driversí Meeting 9:00am
Where: The Cove Campground near Gore, VA

http://www.offcambercrawlers.com/learn4x4/

I'm personally headed out Friday COB and will be camping both Friday and Saturday night.

If you want to just signup via me just let me know and I'll take care of it. Do take a look at the web page above and download the waivers beforehand, or any of the course materials if you'd like.

I'm in for Sat and Sun. Who is interested in caravaning? Perhaps meet up for an early breakfast along 66 near Manassas.

If someone is going up there Saturday only, let me know, I might tag along. My truck is not ready and I don't want to miss this event. We can exchange info off thread.

I am in but probably only for Saturday...Pedro, I may be able to give you a ride assuming my passenger seat isn't taken up by Ed (sonoronos)

Jonathan, I would be willing/interested in a caravan and would suggest meeting at Sheetz right off exit 40. It's easy on/off and folks can fill up coolers and there is a McDonalds right next door if anyone wants some besides a Sheetz breakfast

Sounds good Jeff. Sheetz chow is the shizzle. I keep trying to take my wife there for lunch but she refuses to eat "gas station" food.

I signed up for both days but am undecided if I will stay for the full day on Sunday.

Everyone is free to do their own thing, but usually everyone wraps up early on Sunday anyway in order to get home at a decent hour so I suspect you won't find yourself heading off before everyone else. Usually around lunchtime people start heading back to camp.

We need to be at The Cove before 9am. Jeff wants to meet at exit 40 off the 66 (Haymarket) and it's 66 miles to Gore from there, so figure an hour and a half to be safe. So we should meet in Haymarket at 7am for gas, ice, breakfast, etc. That means leaving my house at 615!!!

Tracy- I was thinking about going...

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to scoop rubber before this event (might be a long night friday) but I am going to try my best. Otherwise I'm out unless someone offers me a passenger seat for Sat.

Ed, right now I am in for the 101 only but may play it by ear for the 201...I guess it all depends on how happy wifey is with me by Saturday morning and how much wheeling I get in on Saturday!

Jonathan, sounds like a plan and will see you at Sheetz at 7 on Saturday. So everyone knows, that parking lot is crazy but there is a Bloom right behind it that I would recommend if we need overflow (depending on how much trucks are meeting there)

Just FYI, most of the "class" type activity occurs on Saturday with the 101/201 running concurrently so you kinda have to pick one. Sunday usually has a very brief session before wheeling.

Pedro I can give you a ride there and back on Saturday if you want to meet at Sheetz...you can leave your car in the Bloom parking lot. Ed is driving himself there and back but riding with me for the wheeling. Although, he may want to spend some times wheeling with Charles as well!
