Doug was so inspired by Dan and Tami's ceremony at SCARR he's considering MAR as his own ceremonial location.

Im game with Charles' sugestion, but as much drinking as all of us do at hh and a bar in the middle of a city (falls church or vienna) and the combination of overgrown teen agers with a badge on a power trip, I would strongly suggest staying away from the heart of the city where all of us would have to travel a couple of miles being followed from a bar by a city copper.
just my .02.
needless to add many of our trucks have custom exhaust and personal experience tells me they (city badges) dont like custom exhaust systems.
I was told my borla was "too loud for city ordinance and that next time you drive into my city that range rover better have a factory exhaust or may face jail time plus fines and impund until fixed"
yet I comply with state and fed regulations as far as having a muffler and a tail pipe....
get my drift?.... no city bar for me.
"public house #7" in seven corners va is an english bar, I gather they would be happy to accomodate us.

Monthly meeting

My vote would be Public house #7.
I know Pat, one of the managers there, & he says:- he is in the process of turning the front into a seating area for the outside. Plus, although their happy hour is until 7pm on Thursdays he would extend this for D90 and try to come up with an incentive like X% off food or something. plenty of parking on the lot directly over the road in the doctors building lot. he is quite keen to have you guys there.
My reasoning is that they have a great line-up of beers on tap.

fyi...this place is across the street, and up a block from Dogfish Head Ale House in seven corners. I was there a few months ago, and they do have plenty of beers on tap. And, if anyone dares challenge me to darts....ill be glad to take your money.

Didn't know that place existed, will have to try it out . . . and maybe try the "Welsh Rabbit" (someone please tell them it's "rarebit" . . .)

That's a very good point, Carlos...I've never even considered that.

I'm not sure that any of the bars we are talking about are any more "downtown" than Jay's though...Kilroy's is basically on in an industrial complex less than a 1/2 mile off 495 and Public House/Dogfish have direct access to Rt 50 (about a mile from 495)

My vote is Kilroy's (mainly because of popular demand, not because of any affinity I have for it as previously documented), but I'd be willing to check out Public house #7 (as long as it is not another strip-mall bar : ) as well.

So we are adding further BS traffic for us MD'ers?

I mean we mostly cut off at the GWNP from the outer loop of 495, rt 66 or 50 is at least another 8 miles ( or 1 hour ) during traffic ( from 7 am to 9 pm )

Goose - is Kilroy's better for you? Or do you have any suggestions of places? Throw them out there, we're all ears...

That section of 495 SUCKS. I don't think it will add an hour, but it's a PITA.

Without traffic, the time from GWMP to Jays and GWMP to Kilroy's should be the same. Both are ~12miles.

it's Leesburg an option?

I remember ( but not the name ) a kind of cool British Pub right off 15 and 7

and another nice one on 7 going east from 15

I think a location like that will allow us to take the back roads

Wait a damn minute. You're complaining about traffic, BUT you want to drive 45 miles WEST during RUSH HOUR to go to Leesburg?

EDIT: Ok, I see what you mean about backroads from MD...may be done, but could be tricky. What about the Old Brogue Inn in Great Falls VA? Closes the gap a little, and is a pretty cool place. It's also right in the same area that Cars & Coffee on Saturday am's takes place. Parking in the lot is plentiful, as can be evidenced here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/jasonla...sCoffee_061910

It's also English, so would be a fine spot for our Rovers.

from MD it is a lot easier to get to Leesburg via Point of Rocks and 15 south

Maybe you guys can get a taste of what I go through every HH ( last one, left my house at 3:05 and arrived at what 5:50 ) mind you it is only 63 miles

BTW, I thought you asked for suggestion f#@king Dictator *LMAO*
