Not coming - I got roped into taking my daughter and a car load of 13yo girls to a you-tube rock concert at George Mason Patriot Center tonight.

But in other news I wanted to share..... I am about to start a frame swap on my Stage One. The time has come for so many reasons - but mainly the reasons that my repairs are starting to need repairs.....

I ordered a Stage One galvy chassis from Richards a few weeks ago. It has a 10-12 week delivery time. I expect it to arrive mid December (but may stretch into January). I have been working a budget and a project plans for weeks trying to find the balance of what else to fix and what I should just leave alone.

I have been working with Ralf Sarek in Richmond on this project. They will take delivery of the frame and I will be doing most of the "build" work in his shop. The main reason for this is that I simply do not have the space to do this type of work at my house in Northern Virginia.

At the moment - the big picture project looks like I will start taking the motor, trans, drive train, and axles out of the truck over Thanksgiving. I will give all of that a pressure wash cleaning and maybe slap some paint on the ugly bits. Once the frame arrives in Richmond, I will trailer those parts to Richmond and build a rolling chassis.

The next step would be to take the old body on old frame to Richmond. We would lift the body off and move it over to the new rolling chassis.

Naturally, there are a million small items that I just glossed over - but I think you get the general idea.

Then end goal is to have this driving again by Winter Romp - hopefully before that. We will see.

Once the heavy work actually starts, I will start a thread on the build and hopefully share some of the experience.

I am equally excited and nervous about this project.

Should be there around 5. There was a rumor of a Newman sighting this month.

You will find issues that will stall the project. Don't make deadlines or even set goals. It will happen in it's own time, and you cannot make it happen any faster than it wants..

I'm out. Got the late notice that I didn't get suspended. Guess I will have to try harder next time.

Great HH & kudos to the Dro for the appearance even though it was his anniv. Awesome seeing everyone. Just remember who the UBL of the rover world is! Two pics, the early crowd shot is obligatory since, well, it took awhile for a D to arrive. The 2nd is Ed gaining contact with the ISS....

Don't worry, we barely made any transmissions and those that were made would make a HAMsters head explode!

My setup is ridiculous, it got serenaded by Jason singing Space Oddity which was appropriate...forget the touch screen madness...the simple HTs were the best. Goose was honorary Elmer, it was pretty cool to talk to Ray and Jonesy on their HTs. I was able to talk to Ray simplex on UHF but when we tried VHF, my radio kept shifting on transmit and so I could hear Ray but couldn't talk to him.

Do you have a radio yet Charles?
