Me neither. I've gotten myself in a bit over my head with wrenching and rover time. I need to talk to the boss and get her thoughts. I'd really like to go to the mar, but it might end up being a two day/one night trip to gore instead.

it's the main reason I asked, I need to start by purchasing a tent and if im not going im not spending an extra couple of bucks on that and rather use the money somewhere else.
I do have the DOZER so off road dedicaced vehicle is of no worry, I have a trailer and tow vehicle so im covered there too... evevtually it will come down to economics and what makes sense.. probably the weather even

does anyone have a warn winch controller I could borrow for a day or two, I picked up a winch with no controller and would like to test run it along with respooling the wire back onto the drum. LMK, I can pickup if someone local or at next HH use it there.

That's what I thought...

I was told by a vendor that they are different... I'm winch illiterate and don't know if they wanted to sell me crap I don't need.

Probably not going to MAR

At the rate of the progress I am not making to MAR or anywhere else. I guess I took on too much as well. The rear X member fixing, the rear part of the chassis repaint, the rust fixing on the step bumper, tire carrier, 3rd brake light as well as the modification of the removable winch attachment and repacking the winch gears was too much! now.... Seeing that list, yeah, I should have known better.
I'm done with only half of it with only a few hours avail until the MAR weekend... I suck! My truck has been down for six months now.... A shame for a soft top!

Loic don't worry Im on the same boat with frankie my old 87 rr, I put it down for an engine leak and rust repair and it has turned into a 3 year resto refresh ordeal... the mechanical part of engine and drive train is asembled in pieces in the shop on the floor.. (heads and block separate on corner, trans together but could be freshened alittle, tcase overhauled but under a bench, axles still on truck)
replacement body pannels upstairs on the loft.. electrical.... needs attention..
dont know how much longer it will be in that shape, i want it running but just don't have the time for it......
so you see you are not the only one with a dilemma.. lol
Il pm you....

Goose, I'll probably be at The Cove Saturday only.

I've not been able to ship that for you... I've been busy as hell after work and I cannot send it from work.

shortly after I got my 87 the fan blades broke, that in turn took the timing cover, so I obtained some used parts for it, then the rear diff grenated it self that in turn took the front axles and cv's... I ovehauled the bottom drivetrain and upgraded to disco 24 splines.
by then I had installed soo many used parts from from truck or another we started calling it frankenstein.. then the trans and finally the engine, my wife decided that frankenstein was too long and horrible of a name so she begun to call it "frankie" and the name has stayed with it for at least 10 yrs.
I/we have owned that thing since early 1999.
gus you will have to meet my redneck wife and tell her personally it is "gay".. im not responsible for her response verbally or physically....
she adores that truck......lol...
I WILL STAY AWAY FROM THAT CONVERSATION IF IT EVER HAPPENS>>>LOL
