Would anyone happen to have a spare windshield wiper motor lying around I could borrow? It seems it's the same part for series 3, defenders up to 2001, and RRC rear wiper up to 94.

LHD, although I can't remember if they differ from a RHD.

So is one of them shot you found out? Can you just run with one of them on the driverside for now?

Just one on the defender (series 2 has 2 of them). With the rack disconnected and even the crank wheel removed so there is nothing to offer any resistance, it turns hard by hand and wobbles when it runs, easily tripping the fuse when starting or trying to go to a mode faster than intermittent.

I disassembled and lubed it, but no better. Electric motors are really simple and it just has a bush on the rear and the front shaft but I guess they are worn.

Patrick has his red RRC torn apart...maybe you can coax the motor out of him temporarily?

Mmh, might be a possibility. I forget where he lives. I need to be able to pick it up tomorrow evening and install with time to prep for this weekend. I do know of a NAS D90 parts truck nearby

It feels wrong, but I could trailer the 90 to WG I guess. Donna would like that too. Same distance to the parts truck to get the trailer though.

Damn, I used to know a guy who did nothing but surf the net all day instead of fixing escalators, who could probably source me one and deliver it to me at work for a slice of pizza if he only cared enough to hang out with us anymore.

You can borrow one off the RRC since the truck is in a few pieces. I'm usually home from work around 6

Charles stopped by. We found that the RRC rear motor is actually completely different. If anyone else can help him out, please do!

Yeah that was a bummer. Well, I still have a couple of choices

1. Wing it, sit out any storms if needed, or just leave later after the storms
2. Wing it with Jonsey and let the ladies take the LR4 if his rig isn't ready, although my wife doesn't want to drive 2 vehicles.
3. Go get the damn trailer and tow the D90. Jonesy, you guys could ride along if you want still.

I guess I'll decide tomorrow lunchtime.

Briggs I'll probably take you up on the offer, thanks. I'll ping you next week.
