Any frame shop references in NOVA? Our strut tower needs a little straightening....
Weird that the V-8 Firebird was worse off. Probably totaled.

The Latin American fellows behind Wally's shop straighten frames on the cheap.

European Auto Works

44819 Acacia Ln Sterling, VA 20166
(703) 421-0145

Chris Loiselet is the owner and personally owns a D90, Series, and a Disco. He's the go-to guy for Rosenthal LR.

I've been impressed by what I've seen there.

Thanks. I just spoke with Chris. From his ROM estimate, he must have a backlog of full service work. Waiting for Walid's estimate, but it might be time to find a pair of big trees, some chains, and my hi-lift.

you should be able to pull that out with your winch mate. Just tie the BMW up to its rear bumper.

Tried that at the track Sat evening, but we couldn't figure out a suitable surface to brace against. Granted, if we pulled the motor, it would be a different story, but that option remains on the table. Funny, the other car was strapped between two 1-ton trucks. They were yanking on it for an hour to no avail. One strap was to the ball on a deep drop down hitch. It had all the makings for a Darwin video for YouTube.

How about an inverted U to clear the motor with a spreader bar across the other side to distribute the weight? Would just require some scrap metal.

Pretty much same as a porta power, just harder I'd say.

Would hydraulic spreaders help?

(Think jaws of life)

If you got a trailer ... I got some tools and am on duty in Sterling on Sunday

Inverted U, spreader bar, scrap steel, porta power..... I like what you are putting down. Sounds like you are volunteering? Only joking. We couldn't pay you enough to put up with the dynamics of the four know-it-alls on this team telling you what and how to do it.

Yes we do and it very well could. What is the model number so I could look up the specs (gathering range and such). Going from memory, the ID between the strut towers where those jaws would land is probably 29-ish" now and we need another 2.25". Thank you.

The second estimate came in from the "budget" shop this morning. $2,500. No body work. Just pulling out the strut tower and confirming the rest is square.

Thanks guys for the ideas. If I come calling around mid July, please answer the phone.
