Jeff, actually bought it that way. Boosts are long sold, replaced by freestyles i had powdercoated black. Way to immaculate to wheel. the disco is the beater!

Speaking of HH...is there one this week? If I make it, I'll be rather late but figured it best to confirm that it is still on.

Huff, Galpin, Jonesy, Stephens, Kang, Lav, Ray were instrumental in helping me to get this thing ready for the trip. Bought up in Maine just in Sept, all this truck had were 285 (old) super swampers, GBR 443 Gearing and Detroit rear lockers. In 3 or 4 marathon Sunday Church sessions, we got:
Lelo Fab fabricated Rock Sliders
heavy duty trailing arms
new steerting linkage
steering guard
diff guards
gas tank guard
fox shocks
rte springs
rte rear bumper
snorkel
black wolf steelies & 315 75 16 Mud Grapplers

Needless to say, it was all worth the time and effort and the help I got with all this was awesome! Big thank you's to you's guys. Not only was that my first time out and I'm fully addicted (but no, the Defender will still NEVER get wheeled!) and I didnt break anything, but I managed to take first place in the Lucky 8 competition. The only mishap was on my practice run, a rear spring just fell out. quick fix... All in all, a great weekend and the truck got a lot of compliments on how good it looked. I gave/give full credit to the guys that helped me get it all ready.

Attached is the before and after. Enjoy and I look forward to the next "Church" outing... although, I'm pretty sure my wife will shut that down for a couple of weeks...

What kind of trailing arms are you using? I watched a video of your truck and you were getting a huge amount of movement on the axle.

I'm pretty sure they are RTE. large amount of movement is an understatement! The only thing faster than billy on the course was his rear spring. It popped out and passed him about half way through his practice lap.

I was referring to forward movement, as in the axle not remaining parallel with the front. But yes, lots of articulation too.

Where is this video? No surprise on the spring falling out - shoddy work by an aussie I was told. LOL

Yeah yeah - Blame it on the Aussie, who happened to be on the other side of the truck - the side that didn't lose the retainer.

I do recall Billy allowing all blame to fall to me while he was standing on top of his truck with Doug comparing their new Suunto watches - that Billy couldn't figure out how to get on the right time - and Doug couldn't tell military time. It was a pretty bloody funny weekend when you asked one of them what time it was!!!!! - LOL

I had to snap this picture of the two of them while James & Justin from Lucky8 replaced 1 bolt with 3

Hey ahhhh Doug what time ya got? ... Dunno - but what does the top left button do if you push it twice...

Finally -- in town for this one. To most with options, roll w/ your Defender so we can squelch that NYC crowd.

Holy shit...now that is funny. They are one step from being fighter pilots with those big ass watches and no idea what all the stuff does. Necessary equipment for Overlanding though!

Now that is funny...it's cold...do we want to take best on how many D's show up? NY has nothing to talk about after ROTR anyway..

I'll be in the series unless given sufficient notice to bring the defender.

Well I likewise was going to be Defender-less, starter is being replaced under warranty but haven't received a new one yet. And since it's such a pain in the arse to replace don't feel like putting my spare in just to yank it. UNLESS we've got enough for a big photo op...in which case I'll wrench tonight.
