I dunno about going to a dump like Jay's with our neighbors from Blighty. I would suggest something like Bethesda or Silver Spring that is more central and right near the Beltway and nicer. There are brew pubs in both places.
There is also Capitol City Brewing in DC.

Howz about Tuesday evening at:

Rock Bottom Brewery 7900 Norfolk Avenue Bethesda, MD 20814

I know it's a sucky chain restaurant but at least there's lots of parking. Be sure to wear some flair.

No worries, Charles...I'm sure you were suffering from a combination of perm-a-grin and Puma envy! I'll just drive yours when you get it!

This is a joke, right? I wouldn't take my worst enemy to either of those places. Rock Bottom is just that...bloody awful. I'd suggest if you want to demonstrate some decent beer from the US then the Dogfish Head pub in Falls Church is probably the best bet. But Jays has more atmosphere. I don't care what they think of our beer anyway, we know it is good even if they think we all drink nothing but Budweiser and Miller. Even the Canadians think they have better beer than us but if you go to the LCBO or The Beer Store in Ontario (the only places you can buy beer there) the selection is downright terrible and everything is pretty much made by the same half a dozen breweries that own the monopoly. Its laughable. Besides, Jays has the ummm, scenery...

I second that Dogfish Head is a good backup if we are looking for something different and has a good amount of parking if we are expecting a good/big turn out. That being said, Jay's is still my first choice

I third jays

I like Jays - it's in a great neighborhood. Arlington has an enormous concentration of 25+ young and wealthy.

I work occasionally in Bethesda and it's a very wealthy/corporate area. No, the "scenery" is not as good as Arlington

Bad call on my part as it is my GFs birthday. I am in the doghouse on this one. Reschedule? Monday? Wednesday?
