Was a good time, and great to see everyone. The pic would be for shame though...only one Defender out in the parking lot tonight despite fairly good attendance.

Guess the 'snow' kept them away, as we know the salt would suddenly leap up and destroy rear crossmembers in an instant.

The upside to tonight though is the new warranty program being offered by certain persons, but I will let them explain the terms/conditions of it.

From memory:
1 yellow disco 1 XD
2 disco 2 (2 mall cruisers)
1 RRC
2 LR3(maybe one of them was an LR4? Did not pay attention)
1 Series '63 (bad gas and grease smell...)
1 D90 (new water pump, noisy rear axle [I'm telling you guys it makes noise when you're inside and drive ~15mph+! I'm replacing the wheel bearings])

Did I miss anyone?

Anyway, I showed up fairly late and did not get to enjoy the beer... It was ALL gone by then! Still happy to see y'all tonight!

They have tons of salt to dispose of... So far not a snowflake. Better be white when I wake up in a couple of hours.... After the "warm and sunny" forecast for this past Sunday...

I think it was 2 D1's (the XD, and mine-we like to call those 'The truck that saved Land Rover), and 1 D2...

I promise I will remember the parking brake stuff next time!

It was only 40 degrees. Surprised Charles didn't have the top off.
The DC area is a total joke when it comes to forecasted snow. Like previously mentioned, the beltway was empty and the roads were bone dry. The only traffic was dodging all of the fricken salt trucks (the very reason my D was left in the garage). It was like leap frog out there.

Boy, you show up one time with tires so big you can barely take a speed bump without rubbing and all of a sudden you are a "mall cruiser"

Yes my heater works fine, and yes I braved a salt/sand/stone storm by pulling onto 495 behind a friggin salt truck laying salt on a bone dry road with no precipitation in sight! Man the salt just bounces up and goes everywhere - will have to wash the truck this weekend.

The silver lining was traffic was really light

Meow! Did Loic hurt your soccer-mom rig feeling?

My stock truck looked so punny next to yours. Russell thought my air bags were bad. haha

Dan P-R suggested I check in with you guys here and mentioned the meet up at Kilroy's in February. I'm looking forward to it. Lot's of wrenching to do on the Disco.

I love the snow jokes here - I taught in NY and lived in the Berkshires where the Rover was a necessity - today, leaving Georgetown U today at 24 degrees with tiny snow flakes, a battalion of snow plows, and a salt glaze on all the cars made for a good laugh!
