We're going to meet at Kilroys where we will all exchange radius arms with each other and do a complete fluids service, then we will road trip to Mad Fox where we will circle the block and take turns parking in the one available street parking space and running inside to swig flights of kolsch, then well move on down to the Dogwood Tavern where we will find Ed's future bride. After that it's off to foggy bottom to ogle the hotties at the grocery store. Doesn't that sound fun?

This is worse than girls trying to decide where to eat after a day of shopping. I say we call our group The Travelling Rover Ya Ya Sisterhood.

Pedro, bring that lug nut please.

got it...actually brought both of them. I filed on the bad arm for a bit and think it is close to usable again but if Gus' is good from the start that is probably a better option.

I think everyone needs to relax and take a breath for a few minutes as this is not the first time we have had this drama over moving the venue. There have been countless emails/posts about this and that is apparently getting some folks riled up.

The consensus seems to be to meet at Dogwood Tavern, not Mad Fox...not because Pedro said so but because the majority of the people attending said so. Regardless of where we go, I'm in!

LOL I do in fact have the BobieDome™ with me.

FWIW I think the outdoor patios in DC allow smoking too. But @ Kilroys it is covered so it tends to linger. Plus it is geared toward the inexplicably popular Jimmy Buffet image which apparently includes alot of sucking poisonous fumes through a paper straw.

BTW I met a smoking hot babe once at the Safeway in East Falls Church across from the Harris Teeter there. Turned out she worked where I work and was married. She used to give me shit for smoking. I used to give her shit for being married. We're not friends anymore.

FYI I am going to Dogweeds or whatever it's called. Ed, I will be your wing man. As long as she isn't smoking.

WTF why do I keep using so many acronyms?

I do think it's silly to just write off a place without giving it a try, especially at the last hour. But I'm fine with Kilroy's or anywhere else. Yes smokers suck but they tend to like bars for some reason (it's the only place I see them). Go figure.

Dave, how about you bring the Bobie Dome (TM) and we all bring coolers of beer and just camp out in the parking lot at Kilroy's?

To my mind, we are still looking for a place to replace Jay's. Kilroy's has been just one option and we should explore more until we can make a judgement based on all the evidence. If this means that we find that parking sucks at a particular location, well, then I guess we cross that one off the list.
If we keep going to one place we'll never find out what we are missing. If this exploration phase is too much for everyone to handle, speak now and we'll settle on Kilroy's. I am hoping that everyone will come to Dogwood's tonight to see what it has to offer. I am sure everyone will have their opinions on which location they prefer whether it's for the big parking lot, the gay nachos or the eye candy or whatever. At some point we will come to a consensus on which one is the least problematic and we will go from there.
I dunno maybe I'm wrong and we should just settle where we are for now. I for one think looking around is fun, so I'm up for anything.

You don't need to go through 7 corners to get there. Take 66 an get off at the first exit.

That's kinda where I was going with my question too...really, coming down 495 you can get off on 66 north of Tysons and I would call the distance and traffic from that point comparable between Kilroy's and Dogwood

I agree on the 66 route. Shouldn't be much different than Kilroys. Google claims it's only 30 mins from here since it's all toll road and 66!
