fair enough, worth a shot, now you know you have a good filter so it is out of the equation/ trouble shooting chart.

Temporary hijack...

Why not wire the work light up to come on in reverse as well and use it as the reverse light? Then it wouldn't matter that it covers the stock lamp.

I have mine wired up to come on with reverse, on demand via switch or off.

Hijack off... Resume normal programming...

Work brings me to Newark Penn Station every few weeks. What nights do you guys get together for HH?

BTW - if you continue to troll ours, best that you make it down here for one.

We don't have a set week or day or anything. Usually it's when I, Tom, or someone else suggests a meet-up, we try to make it happen - probably on a quarterly basis at best.

I have told Charles and Gustavo to host a BBQ and I will make it down, but I haven't seen it happen yet!

That is one of Oliver Whiting's (Overland Specialties) brackets.

I know that Dave already has a Matador but Hella also makes a dual beam work lamp that could be used as both a backup light and a work light off of a switch...I plan to change out my Matador for this setup.

Thought so. ( on the bracket )

I had the dual light on my Black 90, maybe Chris wants to put pics of the set up

( came on by itself in reverse and had a little switch in the speaker housing )

exactly! Chris, post up if you can.

Not sure if Oliver still has these like he did but I picked that aluminum one up for about $20 shipped including a backing plate. The backing plate is a little thin if you are putting a heavy light on there but otherwise works well.

Bmxer06pa (Doug) - Galpin licked the light. Fight with him - I do not care who gets it.

Others - the lens from the Stage One reverse light interferes with the space over the bracket. I can not physically mount the light on top of the bracket. It looks like I can sneak or slide it up under there until you put the two peices together in the same space and it is definately a NO-GO.

Doug it's all yours if you want it. I probably shouldn't be buying it anyway. I have an el-cheapo one without a handle that's bracket is already rusting, but since I never actually wired a switch to it, and have the second el-cheapo one left froma pacl of two, I don't *need* it. I suspect the hella will just rust as well. LOL.

February is looking better, though.

My only update to the beer drinking table story telling is that I got Huff's bracket bolted to my truck and now have an antenna mounted - it is really long (just bragging). I could not figure out how to get a work light mounted with the Stage One reverse light in the way - so I gave up on the work light. (Now I have to either find a buyer for a brand new Hella Matador light or send it back )

I also installed a new 12volt plug - permanent mount on the dash - behind a fuse (lesson learned).

Once I get my cardboard radiator muff artwork worked out in my head and onto the paper.... that will complete my Winter Romp preparations. We are looking good for a Friday, February 17th 5AM departure. (BTW - it looks like the Feb HH will be on Thursday Feb 16 - so the HH will not be long as I might be leaving early to catch much needed sleep before the long drive.)
David:

Don't know if it helps since it's a bit late in the discussion, but here's my rear worklight on the Series...I took out one of the two rear idiot lights and mounted the bracked through that hole and ran the wiring through the body cappings.

I likewise plan to wire it up as a reverse light, installed the switch as such but just need to add a plunger on the tranny - just haven't gotten around to it so flip it on manually when I'm backing up.

I'd probably say just remove the actual backup light and replace it in that spot with a rear worklamp. Should still pass inspection (if you even need it) and will get you the desired result of getting the worklamp on there.

David - followup...actually, the Matador is a 4-prong attachment, from looking at your original pics with the bracket your using maybe you should swap the Matador out for a genuine LR (like the one shown in my pics) that only uses a single attachment point. Then you actually could leave the reverse light AND mount this on your current bracket without issue I believe.
