I got home at 3:00 am from culpeper, only to fing my 5 yr old dorgy very ill, so the vet we went, 5 hrs later and 2100 bucks out she was being sent home with an upset stomach, nausea and lots of pills.
now she is on a special diet fir the next two weeks and just today am I begining to catch up on my sleep.
what happened to the time when I could work all day, then go clubbing, drinking and getting laid until 6 am, making it home to take a shower and dress into work uniform and be at work at 8 just to repeat it all over every day of the week with out having to catch up on beauty sleep?
darn I feel old.

Which one of y'all are absolutely going to Winter Romp? Need a small favor - need a pair of front coils brought to Justin/Lucky8 up there. They are in a box and clean.

Beers, wrenching, and diagnostics. What could be better this Thursday? I would like to hunt down a potential low fuel pressure issue. Perhaps start by doing the easy go/no-go test on the regulator by squeezing down on the fuel return line at the rail for a second or two and listening for the change in sound of the pump. Else, does anyone have a fuel pressure gauge I could borrow and extra fuel filter for sale?

I'm in. I assume Kilroys, 6pmish+ unless anyone can come up with a better alternative.

Russell, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge or spare filter. What are your symptoms?

If it has a Schraeder valve, then Airgas will do it. There's one in Fburg.

Yep, Schrader. I figured a welding supply place could do it.

Russell, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge or spare filter. What are your symptoms?

Thinking a blocked left cat or fuel. Basically, it is suddenly down on power. It can maintain 65 on level, but needs to be floored to maintain in 5th on slight up hills. Torque is down as well. Starts, runs, revs and idles smooth however.

Recalled this was purchased with the #3 and #7 plugs reversed dumping raw fuel down the left bank (sorry if your garage still stinks!) then a few weeks ago the left cat starting making noise like a rock was shaking around inside. No rust on the cat and the heat shield is fine. The noise stopped on its own within 15 minutes. I could see how the left cat would fail given the raw hydrocarbons dumped into it for who knows how long. Power went down around the same time the cat started making noise. Measured the inlet and exit temps of both cats. They appear to be the same at ~ 400 degrees. Nothing cherry red, but perhaps I didn't drive it long enough to tell. Before I pay Midas $100 and the PIDA factor to look at it, I would like to rule out fuel (pump, filter, or regulator). Timing is set and advance is working fine. Fuel filter (OEM) and cats (Magnaflow 94004) were replaced about 5 yrs and 7500 miles ago.
