That reminds me

Dave, I'll bring that Hard drive from you buddy (can't remember his name its been so long)

Anyone want some free mobile 1? I have enough for an oil change. Don't use it and would hate to see it go to waste.

Anyone want a few years worth of LRM? I'll never go back and re-read them and should really de-clutter.

Note the lack of silence in response to this. Unless we get a consistent showing of westerners show up, it's kind of pointless.

But again as a practical matter I don't think we've given enough notice for those who aren't used to allowing a large block of time to actually travel to/from these like we are used to

I would happily trade jays sucky atmosphere, food, and beer selection for the Dogfish Head restaurant out in Falls Church @ Seven Corners. It isn't that much further west for you guys but it might save 20 minutes or so. Plenty of parking and a much happier environment overall. It might cost a bit more than Jays but it isn't like we are poor or don't deserve better...

The last two times we've tried to go to Dogfish Head we've had to go elsewhere as there was a 15 minute search for parking and a 45 minute wait for a table. Too bad, too, as it's a good place.

okay, true, big parking lot but lots of cars...so...call ahead for a large group...get there early and early in the week...monday or tuesday night instead of thurs and fri like we have been doing. I bet there are more spots at 5:30-6 pm. I went with a group of 5 people on this monday and got there at 8pm. There was a Caps game on and plenty of tables, especially in the bar area.

I don't think I'm going to make it this time. I'll notify Ken.

Hi all,

I have only met a few of you but wanted to chime in just in case you are looking for a change. I am the General Manager of a restaurant in northwest DC called Chef Geoff's. If everyone wanted to try something different I would be happy to have a crowd here. We have a roped off area in front of our restaurant I may be able to get reserved for all the trucks plus we have free parking in the rear of our restaurant which is always available. We have great food and an awesome happy hour ($5.95 burgers, $8.95 pizzas, and more!) and $7.95 Supermug Beers (thats 33oz and your choice of 24 taps!). We are also kid friendly if some of you want/need to bring the fam. Sorry for the lengthy note but figured it would be another option and a different atmosphere. And we can pick anyday we want! Let me know if you have any questions and we can do this anytime.

Cheers, Anthony

Hey Anthony!

Yup we really should do a meeting there sometime. But unfortunately it's *even further* for us westerners so it will have to be a special treat and not a regular venue.

We should plan for one at Chef Geoff's though.

Good to hear from you, Anthony -- do you still have your truck?
At one point didn't we discuss doing a brunch up there to avoid downtown traffic?

I sold the 90 and bought a DII. Its ready for the trail so I am anxious to go on an outing.

I believe we did discuss a brunch. I think that was b/c of everyone who is farther outside of the city can do a day w/ the family and it sounded like it would work out better for everyone. We can do anyday we want so we just have to figure out what works best for everyone and plan it. And if anyone every wants to come out for lunch/dinner/brunch/bar/etc. please do not hesitate to ask and I would be happy to welcome you and make sure you have a great time! I can be reach directly at anthonyp@chefgeoff.com if you have any questions or anything like that.

But I look forward to having a day here and welcoming everyone! I told my owner and he is excited to have all the D90's out front of his restaurant!

Robbie, can you ping Matt to see if he's interested?

Ken Loy is coming, as well.

I should be there @ 6:30 pending day care pickup and transfer case chunk loading goes according to plan.

Sweet! Did you tell him it's a "you have to drive your rover" day so he can go out now and charge the battery, inflate tires etc.?
