I can likely make donuts happen. Someone else will have to handle the strippers.

Thanks to everyone who came out and lent a hand. Gustavo, Loic, Jonathan, Dave, Jason, and a couple of non-rover guys. Every bit helped! As usual everything takes longer than planned and I only got it running around 10:30 pm. Gustavo wins the iron man award - he wasn't first (Jonathan was there at 8am sharp) but he was there early and stayed till 7:30 or so. I should probably be thanking Tammy...

I have a few things to wrap up but she runs!

Anyway, in the future if you want to do a Disco 3.9L to D90 swap, don't forget you need to get a 97 D90 lower radiator hose if you don't have one, and a pilot bushing if the engine came from an auto and it's going into a stick. You'll want the coolant reservoir, fan shroud, relocated ignition module (and the portion of the wiring harness for it) from the disco otherwise it's pretty much a direct swap. Oh, the fan shroud needs trimming on the corners. I'm too lazy to lookup the thread but there is a thread showing what tensioner and belt size you can get to remove the A/C compressor if you don't want/need it.

Oh and if you do forget the bottom radiator hose, the smaller diameter tubing of a NAS rear step bumper makes a perfect union to build one that works until you get it.

Feel like a jerk

Charles -

I have been swamped at work and have not checked the D-90m board for several days. I wish I knew you were doing this over the weekend - I would have gladly repaid you the favor in spades.

On top of that - it sounded like a great party - almost as good as a happy hour.

(feeling really guilty for not helping )

Hey no worries man. If you recall I stayed as little as necessary to help you and I bolted to go watch football, so don't feel guilty at all. In fact I felt guilty not staying to help you wrap yours up as I should have!

Oddly there was very little drinking. I have two cases of beer left over. Mmh, not such a bad thing I guess. Speaking of which I think I hear one calling..

------ Follow up post added February 13th, 2011 10:14 PM ------

Picture a D90 with a 3.9L engine (but serpentine belt).

Honestly I was too busy working to take pictures, and doubt anyone else did. Just grabbed this off my phone. This is a temporary fix to get a working lower radiator hose setup. South African/Italian/wtf else goose is engineering.
