NELRC Second ANNUAL - 5/17-19/2013, Lifted from NELRC

This was an awesome event last year!!

NELRC Second ANNUAL - 5/17-19/2013, Lifted from NELRC:

We will be returning to Rausch Creek and Anthractie Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) for the NELRC Second Annual.

Friday May 17th- Rausch Creek Off Road Park.
Saturday May 18th- AOAA
Sunday May 19th- AOAA

As of now, AOAA is not officially open, so they are requiring guides again. We will be breaking it up into smaller groups this year, with a wider range of trails. AOAA is requiring all vehicles to be registered and insured, and to be able to provide proof of registration and insurance.

The AOAA Authority has provided us with the following fee schedule for the weekend:
1 day ------ $20 per vehicle
2 days ---- $30 per vehicle

Passengers are $10 for 1 day , Free the 2nd day.

All participants will be required to fill out a waiver form

AOAA Liability Form

There is a private campground opening soon next to AOAA, which we are planning on staying at Saturday night, and possibly friday night, depending on interest. I've spoken with the owner, who told me that they will have bath houses up and running, but unsure as to whether RV hookups will be installed and ready for us by our dates. As soon as pricing has been set, I will post it.

Saturday evening we will be having a group dinner at the Wayside Inn, in Shamokin. We went there last year, and the owner were very accommodating towards us.

More details to come, as details get worked out. Please bear with us, as with the forming of the AOAA authority, and all the planning and construction going on in preparation for the parks official opening, hopefully this year, a lot of details have not been set in stone yet.

Rausch Creek fees are as follows:

Membership fee: $15 for drivers and passengers
Access fees: $35 per driver
$7 per passenger age 16 and older.

What a great trip! I got to explore nearly everything that is cut so far on the east property at Anthracite, last year we explored only the west. so it took us two days of wheeling to cover both properties and that is just with what they had cut now. They have barely started from what Mike the trail guide organizer told me. He also mentioned a soft opening in September when facilities will be up and running and they will be open on weekends and holidays only for people to show up grab a map and go! Next year will be the grand opening when they provide a full schedule. Possibility of the Third ANNUAL moving to a two or three day event at Anthracite for 2014 with dinner at the Wayside.

As for pics and video, everything i had is uploaded to facebook.
