National Rally LEADVILLE 2005

Reminder that the LAST absolute LAST (did I mention LAST) day to regester for the Solihull Society National Rally in Leadville is June 30th

http://www.solihullsociety.org

I attended a Rally meeting last week, and it is a huge PITA with all the events to have people regestering at the last minute. Sooooo... they said that late regestrations will not be accepted.

So, who is coming?

I'm leading Holly Cross, and Chinaman. These are the hardest two trails in the rally, and if you have an equipped truck you gotta run Holly Cross, it is the most beautiful trail you'll ever see.

Running Carnage BV on Saturday for sure, so who's going to run it?

Yousef-

We may need to change Carnage to Thursday if possible. Some of the local guys have mentioned that the buggies have been showing up at 8am and then a slew of jeeps not too long after that. You can imagine the trail clog once guys start breaking or getting stuck. What do you think?

I'm "equipped", however I'm running a heavy truck (slightly top heavy too). What's the outlook on the trails? Any good pictures from either?

David, there are a couple of interesting spots that you might get tippy. Jabber has some pictures on a website, when I get home I'll post the link.

This probably won't make Yousef happy but... I signed up to lead Carnage on Thursday. We have to run it either Thursday or Friday. Friday I'm leading Grizzly Lake, probably in my wifes DII. Saturday I have to stay behind and get things ready for the banquet. I'll be up for some early week wheeling as well. I will probably head down to Buena Vista and scout out Carnage (see what I got myself into and pre-run Grizzly lake since I have never run it before.

Damn.... pumped about the rally.

I may head up to scout around Mosquito Pass Sunday.

I am Leading Mosquito Pass, McAllester/Ptarmigan, and Hagerman.

For those who will be out, the attached pictures are some of what you may will see, For those who are not, this is what you are missing. I think the Defender count is over 40in attendance.

Bearings?

You have a 3-link right? Have you checked your crossmember for signs of fatigue?
Adjusted your castor angle lately?

Just a thought.

Are you going to be able to take it to the Rally, I'd liek to see it in person to check it out.

Harlan, I just swapped my girlfriends wheels on to my truck and the wobble is gone. I suspect my beadlocks are causing the problem. I'm trying to find a set of steel wheels and get them installed before the rally but it doesn't seem I have enough time to have a set shipped but hopefully I can find a set locally. I will make the rally w or w/o the wobble

You may have put one of the front wheels out back, if one wheel is off balance more then the others or possibly out of round from being bashed on rocks you may not notice it as much when it's out back.
