Moab new years!

I just got of the phone with Mike Hansen and we are planning a trip to Moab from 12/28-01/01. Jabber is also coming. I told Hasen if this trip is a go I'm buying a 24 pack

Kids are welcome!

Who's in?

You said 24 Cases!!

Yes it is a go!! I turned in my vacation request yesterday.

Moab average daytime highs are Mid 40's at the end of December.

Looking for hotels now, everthing is really cheap that time of year. Does anyone know of a hotel that has a bar in it in Moab?

Start Planning Now.

This place appears to have a bar. I think some of the in-town hotels are within short walking distance of a brew pub.

Of the places I have stayed, I like the Big Horn Lodge in Moab - no bar, but within walking distance of the brew-pub. Outside access to rooms, they don't mind you repairing your vehicle in their parking lot, and will accept UPS shipments of repair parts for you.

Should be less than $50/night most places that time of year.

I suggested Red Cliff's Lodge earlier because it looks like it has a bar. It's a little ways out of Moab, though, looking at the directions.

The Redcliffs Lodge is a very nice place, great setting, but it is a ways out of town, up the river road - about 15 - 20 minues. That was the location of the Hummer H2 press introduction several years back. It is a pretty drive, but watch for ice. Also, that time of year you might find yourself alone at the bar.

The Bighorn Lodge is a good choice as well - good breakfast at the Smitty's Golden Steak in the motel.

By the way, 2 and 3 bedroom condos can be had fairly cheap that time of year for those looking for space for kids. Most also have garages to work on vehicles out of the cold. http://www.moabvacationproperties.com/Rental/Rental.php

I may be there that weekend as well and would love to find you folks.

I always stay at the GONZO INN (www.gonzoinn.com) it's across the street from Eddie McSTiffs (the bar) and across the street from NAPA auto parts. They also allow dogs.

I was talking to Keith and Karen and they were thinking about renting a house for those days. I'm still waiting to hear from Karen. I still don't know the house size but we were thinking about fitting 4 families in one.
It looks like there will be some people staying at the Moab Vally Inn.

Hippert, if you make it you can share my bed

Mike,

Are you still reserved at Red Cliffs Lodge? I'm thinking Moab Valley Inn now that others are staying there or at the rented house.
