Moab & Mapping Software

Planning a trip to Moab next summer and looking for your experiences with the two main mapping software packages: National Geographics or Delorme. Planning to visit Arches & Canyonlands, Monument Valley & Valley of the Gods among others. Off road in Canyonlands and perhaps other locations.

At this stage I may use a laptop and an older Garming 12XL (I may upgrade). Looking to use the software for planning purposes and not necessarily enroute.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Played with DeLorme, but always revert back to the printed maps when there. Visit the guys at GearHeads on the main drag in town.
