Moab

Is there anything a first timer should know before heading to Moab? I will be there in the next week or so. Thanks in advance.

If you want to see everything compressed into a few days, I'd advise hiring a guide for a day. Contact the Red Rock 4 wheelers for info, or do a google on Dan Mick.

If you don't find a guide you can usually find a few groups leaving out of the "City Market" grocery store in the mornings.

Take some water.

Thanks, I will be there for a while.... 4 or 5 days, not looking to do anything hardcore, just wanted to go so I know whatever one is talking about. Mainly going for the scenery not the wheeling this time. Although it is hard to do just looking in the d90!

Take Randy's suggestion on the City Market idea then. Do lot's of internet reading before you go. Buy a map and talk to the guys at GearHeads. Talk to the group before they leave to find out what kind of trail they are headed out to try. Give their trucks a good look over for wheeling prep.

It would be a crime to be there and not try some of the trails.
