Mid Atlantic Rally. ROAV
For you event veterans a few questions. My son and I plan to attend this years MAR for the first time. We've enjoyed the Wintergreen event the last 2 years as well as a Conclave a few years back.
What is the schedule like at the MAR? We plan to arrive mid day Friday and set up camp. Will that yield us enough time to participate in the Trials event as well as Saturdays off roading?
Thanks

If you go on the easy trail ride Saturday morning you'll have plenty of time for the Trials event after you get back. That's what I did last year and even had time to watch the recovery demonstration go to Hell in a hand-basket.

I know.... I know.... I am behind on this and pushing out the details.
In the mean time - check out the website www.roav.org
Cliff notes; - Rally starts on Friday (but a few diehards arrive on Thursday)
- Trail rides are daily (morning and afternoon)
- Satruday afternoon we are looking to have the normal RTV course and a blind man's obstacle course - we figure most folks will make a short trail day on Satruday and come play games abck in camp in the later afternoon
- Ohhh... this is camping, and like Jonesy said - we have poor luck with weather (hotels are nearby - book early - you are on your own with this)
- The rally ends on Sunday. There will likely be a morning trail ride (short) to let everyone's tents dry out before packin up to go home.
I post a lot of short updates in real time on the club facebook site. The web page gets larger updates but is not updated as frequently.
The biggest planning item we are starting on now is looking for volunteers to help with the event - RTV course setup and judging
- Blindman event setup and judging
- Registration help
- !!! Trail Guides !!! Looking to do something special here (more to come)

Why would a passenger have to pay?
I think you just sign a waiver w/ the person you're riding with.
Ask Fireman Short to be sure.

Won't be making it this year, unfortunately. New job taking me out of the country, so hope to catch up with everyone in the spring.
