Maryland to Atlanta in a 2.5NA with trailer

Sooo, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

We recently moved to Atlanta, and trailered our two Volkswagens with our things.
I knew the Defender would be slow, but I wasn't expecting 35mph on interstate 20 kind of slow! Trailer had a flat somewhere South of Richmond, and it took uhaul 25 minutes to get our information, 37 minutes for the guys to show up, and exactly 4 minutes more until I was driving again! I thought something horrible was happening and stopped to check several times as to why I was losing power-- turns out It was getting slightly more hilly.
It made it, though, and I've only got mild tinnitus and one new noise (sounds like an exhaust shroud rattle) as leftovers!

A few shots:

Congrats on the move, joining us in the south!

I'm impressed by the trip..I figured the 110 would be the vehicle in tow

U-Haul had no issues with you renting a trailer with your 110? (I'm curious)

Holy shit! That little 2.5 was dragging close to 10k lbs and in a vehicle with a drag coefficient of a billboard. I would say 35mph isn't bad at at all!

Congrats on the move. Need to treat the 110 to some new parts - she worked hard!

You should have pulled the 110 with the VW.

I put an Isuzu 2.8 Trooper TD engine in a 110 that ended up in CO.
Owner tows a full water Buffalo up the mountain and claims it goes much faster than he is comfortable with.
Replaced a 2.5N/A in one of our 110s with the Isuzu 2.8 and it will cruse at 80 MPH with lots of accelerator petal left.

You need a metal for trying to tow anything with a 2.5 N/A powered 110.
Am surprised you were not pulled over ticketed for being too slow and kicked off the interstate.
This happened to me when I was running a 2.5 N/A 110 and when I got back home pulled the engine the next weekend and started working on an engine conversion.

HAHAHA. The cat is probably contemplating the luxury and comforts of the MB (where the dog is riding)

Lol
She loves a drive as long as she can see, do i set up several places where she could hang out by a window. The other two like to hide, so I set up"caves" for them. And boxes, of course.
In retrospect, the MB should have probably towed everything else!

@rdavisinva There was much shifting involved to stay above 45 for the most part! We had the Benz behind putting flashers on whenever we were getting less than 50mph. It actually was quite ok going 55 on flats.
@john No. I might've told them it was a 1993 , so they found the car. The guys hooking it up , well it looks like it can tow anything, so they had no issues.
@don it's just a little car, haha! Thank you. Actually, the roof rack and A-bar and lights were it's for getting ready really, I'm thinking insulation will be the next treat.
