MAR Orphans

Can we get a new count on who's going to MAR? Perhaps the first one there can set up a D-90 orphan camp...

As I recall from the last posting, Mike H was coming down with his aerodynamic, hoodless, doorless truck with $45 of beer in the back. Dave M should be easy to spot with the flashing Check Engine light. Kearney in trail. Ron will be there with hotel coupons. Zach stands out in EVERY crowd. Anyone else?

For those of you who haven't been to MAR before, it's "primative" camping with just fresh water and porta-potties. A caterer is there for some meals though. Check the roav.org website.

Also, I heard that the concrete bridge to the island is washed out. No island access?? Anyone know?

Ken, sounds like you'll be the first to get there. We have to make the ten hour drive first...

I'd like a tent spot, with some water frontage, on high ground, no roots....

Not sure yet Mike. I'll let you know. I'll make sure I put the extra tall CB antenna on just in case.

BTW Ken, fixed that check engine light, I think. Damn new speedo wasn't getting any love from the ECU. Had to use the guts of the old speedo to return the right signal from the TC. What a pain in the butt. Always seems like you have to invent the wheel to fix things...

Depends on when you leave. I think we are going to do the 95 route and try and get ahead of the NJ traffic. But we'll see.

Dave, You don't ask for much, do you? Do I need to bring coffee, TOO?? Would you prefer croissants or bagels? I'm looking forward to seeing that new VDO speedometer! I bet it looks slick, even with the electrician's tape and spliced wires.

Good spy on the pic from last year. How could you tell it was me? haha. It was my first hill in the new D-90 and took me a few tries. BUT, I never needed the winch! If you look real closely, you might see Zach hunkered down in the back, wondering why in the hell I didn't just lock my diff to climb the hill instead of digging out ruts. Now, he's got other incentive to keep his head and paws inside the vehicle at all times: mud thrown up by Mike! haha

I'm interested to see how much water is in that creek this year. If I could figure out how to embed a picture from my hard drive, I'd post one of the submerged concrete bridge, upstream of this creek. (CVC, the help screen only talks about using a hyperlink using an http:// link. What up?)

Do you guys want to send me your cell phone numbers by email, and I'll call you when I get to the site so you'll know which root to look for when you come into the camp?

how do I insert a photo that currently is on my hd? when I looked at the help screen, it only talks about inserting photos that are a link from a website. When I click on the "IMG" button on the Post Reply page, it also refers to an http address and doesn't recognize a c:xxx.jpg command. What am I missing?

You should have a field for this when your replying on the left hand side marked "Attach file". It should be between "Options" and "Rate this thread".... on the reply screen.

Ken, the vB and html codes for attaching images have been disabled but at the bottom of the reply box look for the "Attach file" section. Here you can browse your local drive and select the picture you want to attach in the message.

Ken, I would email you, except you turned off the email function for yourself through the board. Email me off list as I think I deleted your address for some reason...
